Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Getting GoDaddy and WordPress to be friendsOk. I was reluctant to do so in the beginning because there’s an additional fee to access their support forums thinking I could figure it out on my own, but I’ll just break down and shell out since I’ve bought the theme already. Thank you for all your help, Esmi! I feel a lot better now knowing what I’m looking for and a little more confident in what I’m doing.

In reply to: Getting GoDaddy and WordPress to be friendsOk, so I just deleted it. Still not seeing my theme available for activation in WordPress :\ Anything else I can try?
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Getting GoDaddy and WordPress to be friendsThey weren’t. I went in and moved all the underlying files and folders up to the top level theme folder. So now they rest in wp-content/themes/tribal/(All .php, .css and all contained files and folders. I also noticed that within the Tribal folder there was another folder called _MACOSX that contained copies of the same files contained in the Tribal theme folder. I moved this folder into themes as is under the same name. Was this a mistake?
So in my wp-content/themes folder I have themes/tribal, andthemes/_MACOSX. Which seem to contain all the same files. Should I not have separated them?

In reply to: Getting GoDaddy and WordPress to be friendsYep I unzipped it to its own folder in wp-content/themes/tribal (name of theme). I downloaded the theme from http://gorillathemes.com/ and was billed as a WordPress theme. They say on the website about my specific theme, “Tribal is a great urban WordPress music / media theme. The theme is fully compatible with WordPress and Dynamic menus, automatic integration with your Facebook and Twitter account, Sidebar Widgets and a gorgeous featured article slideshow”. Not sure what else to do 🙁

In reply to: Getting GoDaddy and WordPress to be friendsHm. I’m not seeing any error messages nor my theme in the Appearance-Themes and under Manage Themes at the top…just options for a free theme I downloaded when I first started on WordPress and links to buying/dling WordPress themes. What do you think the issue may be? It seems as if it doesn’t recognize my webhost. The only things I’ve done server side has been changing my Nameservers to point at WordPress and follow through with generic GoDaddy WordPress install.

In reply to: Getting GoDaddy and WordPress to be friendsOk, I’ve got the theme folder unzipped in my FTP in the wp-content/themes. Problem is I’m not finding anything on my Dashboard for activation.
Under Dashboard all I see is: Home, Blog Surfer, Comments I’ve made, Readomatic, Tag Surfer, Site States, Akismet Stats, My Blogs, Blogs I Follow, Connections. And under Appearance-Themes I see nothing that says ‘Add New’ only: Widgets, Menus, Theme Options, Background, Header, Custom Design, Mobile, and iPad.
I’ve scoured the pages and can’t find “Add New” anywhere.
