Thanks for tips, doodlebee… I seem can’t understand the instructions about using the scripts. π
Otto42: I had to add another div layer with the id, “post-1”, to instruct the :hover to display it when hovering the text area on main blog. It works perfectly now. Sad, only it works on Firefox, not IE. I’m working on trying to understand the scripts on the website, doodlebee posted the link above.

In reply to: hover in CSSchradil and doodlebee,
Care to show me how to write up either with or without javascript to force IE to recongize the :hover pseudo classes???
I’m a little bit lost and confusing about that… any helpful tips would be nice.
Thanks in advance!
Really? ok… I gave up struggling with using the bottom-border for :hover background at this time… I will find a solution later but if someone found a solution for me, let me know. So far here’s my code.
My content CSS:
—————
/*** Content ***/#content,#contentalt {
background-color:#fff;
border:0px solid #c0c0c0;
border-bottom: 2px solid #990000;
color:#000;
padding:10px 10px 10px 10px;
}#content:hover {
border-bottom: 1px solid #990000;
background-color: #c0c0c0;
}#post-1 {
border: 0px solid #0000FF;
margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px;
padding: 00px 0px 0px 0px;
}#post-1:hover {
border-bottom: 0px solid #0000FF;
background-color: #e8e9ea;
}
—————–and my index code is:
——————–
<div id=”content”>
<?php if (have_posts()) : ?>
<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?><div class=”post” id=”post-<?php the_ID(); ?>” id=”post-1″>
<div class=”post” id=”post-1″><h2>” rel=”bookmark” title=”<?php _e(‘Permanent Link to’,’andreas09′); ?> <?php the_title(); ?>”><?php the_title(); ?></h2>
<p class=”date”><?php _e(‘Posted by’,’andreas09′); ?> <?php if (get_the_author_url()) { ?>“><?php the_author(); ?><?php } else { the_author(); } ?> <?php _e(‘on’,’andreas09′); ?> <?php the_time (__(‘F jS, Y’,’andreas09′)) ?><div class=”entry”>
<?php the_content(__(‘Read the rest of this entry »’,’andreas09′)); ?>
</div><p class=”category”><?php _e(‘Posted in’,’andreas09′); ?> <?php the_category(‘, ‘) ?> | <?php comments_popup_link(__(‘No Comments »’,’andreas09′), __(‘1 Comment »’,’andreas09′), __(‘% Comments »’,’andreas09′)); ?>
</div>
</div>
<?php endwhile; ?>
<div class=”bottomnavigation”>
<div class=”alignleft”><?php next_posts_link(__(‘« Previous Entries’,’andreas09′)) ?></div>
<div class=”alignright”><?php previous_posts_link(__(‘Next Entries »’,’andreas09′)) ?></div>
</div><?php else : ?>
<div id=”page”>
<h1 class=”center”><?php _e(‘Not Found’,’andreas09′); ?></h1>
<p class=”center”><?php _e(‘Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn\’t here.’,’andreas09′); ?>
<p class=”center”><?php _e(‘Perhaps you would like to try a search or select from one of the links on the menu.’,’andreas09′); ?>
</div><?php endif; ?>
</div>
——————Now I have to find the javascript code to force IE to recongize :hover. Do you know where I can find that? Or do I ask for one in this WP Forum? Because I use FF, not IE so I’d like to show it on IE for IE users.
Thanks in advance.
I finally got it but remain one new problem… when I moveover the mouse on second entry, it has two bottom-borders. The first entry works perfectly but not second ones.
I don’t know where to put the ending div. π
yeah! that exactly what I’m try to figure out…
Ok… so do I need to add another div tag before or after “div class=entry” OR change the div class=’post’? ETA: how do I put two separate hover colors for this? Like hover #1 (light grey) and hover #2 (medium grey)?
< div class=”entry” >
< ?php the_content(__(‘Read the rest of this entry Β»’,’andreas09′)); ? >
< /div >ETA: I’m getting closer getting it succeed but remain having problems with CSS/code. π
Umm, that’s hard to explain.
I want the alternative hover colors backgrouond on contents (main blog entries) when moving the mouse on each entries. How do I do this?

In reply to: hover in CSSVery cool! Just a little FYI, I’m not expert with CSS or javascript coding so I’m hoping anyone with coding gurus will help me out with coding. I know there are alot of possibilities when it come to making a word press site.
If you take a look at my test site at http://www.csdrcheer.com/index.php and move your mouse on entries, you will see a color hover active. I know it’s working but close enough to what I want but I want alternative like: contenteven and contentodd. The problem is the content code itself is one straight coding. I need to figure out how to tell that php code to read contenteven and contentodd CSS to display it. Hmmm
Here’s my current code for content entries. This is in my main index template file.
———————-
< div class=”entry” >
< ?php the_content(__(‘Read the rest of this entry »’,’andreas09′)); ? >
< /div >
———————-I just forgot that it could work on comments, too. I’m taking one step at time which I want to begin with content entries, first. π
I use Firefox so I may have to test it out on IE and probably add javascript to force it like ya’ll said.
If someone with coding expert can write up a little code for specific CSS and html/php codes for me, gimme! gimme! gimme! π Thanks!
