In reply to: Cache.php found – Possible BackdoorI just went hunting and found one in my plugins folder — I think relating to a Cache plugin. I renamed it, and things are still chugging-along.

In reply to: Converting Localhost to Remote domainCool. I’ll give this a try.
I’ve transferred everything from local to a remote dev server, and I’ve gone-through and edited everything by hand, but once this needs to go to production, I’ll need to do it all over again. A batch process seems like the better way, methinks.
Thank you!

In reply to: After 2.7 update my site is borked.THAT WAS IT! Thanks so much for your help.
I was really close to copying html out of the database. 8-|WordPress rocks again, and I do love the 2.7.

In reply to: After 2.7 update my site is borked. To confirm, I just tried everything all over again. Yes — I ran wp-admin/upgrade.php.
I received the “no update needed” page, but the same problem persists — I’m taken back to install.php. I just tried to enter the “new site information”: Blog Title & admin email. On step 2, I get a page with a million errors. Looks like WP is trying to populate the database and it’s crashing.
A few:
WordPress database error: [Table '.\wordpress\wp_options' is marked as crashed and should be repaired] DESCRIBE wp_options; WordPress database error: [Table '.\wordpress\wp_options' is marked as crashed and should be repaired] SHOW INDEX FROM wp_options; WordPress database error: [Table '.\wordpress\wp_options' is marked as crashed and should be repaired] ALTER TABLE wp_options ADD COLUMN option_id bigint(20) NOT NULL auto_increment WordPress database error: [Table '.\wordpress\wp_options' is marked as crashed and should be repaired] ALTER TABLE wp_options ADD COLUMN blog_id int(11) NOT NULL default '0' WordPress database error: [Table '.\wordpress\wp_options' is marked as crashed and should be repaired] ALTER TABLE wp_options ADD COLUMN option_name varchar(64) NOT NULL default ''Forum: Developing with WordPress

In reply to: [Plugin: Podcasting] MP3s not saved in Podcast RSS FeedNot sure it it matters, but I would kill the spaces in the filename. That’s just asking for trouble somewhere down the line.

In reply to: [Plugin: Podcasting] MP3s not saved in Podcast RSS FeedAt the core of RSS, two enclosures won’t work in one post. Look at your code and make sure you only have the one. You might delete them an re-add them. If all else fails, you don’t need ANY type of player. WordPress will do all the work for you. This is how I do it:

The search on the Plugins page really, really sucks, so I thought I would try here.
Thanks again.

In reply to: Make my site private – let only certain members accessAlso looking for a sound solution.
The Private-WP says:
“…this will only protect your main blog pages. Your feed will still be accessible to non-registered users, as will the stylesheets, script files, images and other resources of your site…”
Also on the site:
“…This plugin works in WordPress versions up to 2.5.1, but is unfortunately broken in 2.6. An updated version will be made available as soon as possible…”

Many thanks! As usual, you’re Handy to have around. An to think I’m considering jumping into Drupal, when I can’t grasp the simple notion of cache!
I loves me the WordPress though.
