Spurious = unnecessary (that should be <div></div>. Sometimes, when I clean up text they get left behind and your theme doesn’t like them.
BTW, your theme doesn’t like spurious <divs></divs> in the text, they have the effect of making the text window overlap the sidebar.
I have one other observation on the layout namely, the post’s title. It just doesn’t stand out enough. The effect is that it’s actually difficult to figure out where the post starts. It might be the positioning of the red date flag which draws the eye down from the title hot link.
Perhaps if it were moved up and maybe smaller?
OK, these are/were links that I added but didn’t use that your theme is calling up.
And yes, the ability to delete/turn off those headings would be very useful.
Can I send you a screen shot or put it up here?
Hi Arthur,
The only thing I’ve changed is the code you’ve supplied. I’m trying to figure out why your theme has inserted strange links in the sidebar.Ok, I’ve restored the original, untouched style.css, so it’s as supplied but the weird stuff is still in the sidebar.
One problem has surfaced to do with the built-in sidebar widgets. As I’m not using them, how do I get rid of them please? They also sem to have acquired bits of code from my widgets (even one that doesn’t exist).

Ok, check it out: http://williambowles.info
Of course, removing the date tag means that the title needs to be bigger as it doesn’t stand out. Maybe if the red tag were smaller I could put it back in?
OK, done that and the ribbon is no more. However, we seem to have a problem with formatting. Not sure how to explain it but essentially, a big chunk of body text now extends across the sidebar on the right from just one message, the first one. I think it has something to do with code in the post. I’ll check it out.

Replace what exactly?
Hi Arthur,
I assume this goes in style.css but where please?B

Hi,
I quite like this theme except for that thumping great red date on each post! Is it difficult for me to edit your style sheet to remove it?B

In reply to: WordPress editor broke?OK, it’s fixed. Apparently it was a Javascript problem. Emptying the cache and restarting the browser fixed it. BTW, it was my ISP that figured it out, not me.
