In reply to: My site disappeared – just a blank white pageJust a quick update regarding my previous post…
Shortly after this happened to my wife’s site, I discovered that mine had the same issue. This time, however; I did not click the upgrade link. I decided that it wasn’t that important and that I’d deal with it later (I had bigger problems to deal with at that time). Well, later arrived, and when I went to fix my site it was already online and working without an issue. No changes were made to the site before or after the problem occurred. The issue just went away…
C’est la vie

In reply to: My site disappeared – just a blank white page“Over the weekend our site disappeared…now it’s just a plain white page.”
My wife just came to me in a panic. She’s having the same problem. As far as I can tell, nothing has changed on the site. She created a new entry yesterday without a problem. Today, she has the blank white page in the frontend, and the dashboard just had a message that her DB needs to be upgraded, with a link to start the process.
I clicked the link to upgrade (after a backup!) and it just ran through the typical WordPress upgrade routine. Her site is back online, but I’m not sure how or why this happened.

In reply to: can *anyone* post by email? As podz mentioned, John’s wp-mail hack is very useful, but it seems as though his development time has been limited lately.
HeadGeek, from Economy Size Geek has been keeping this script up to date with bug fixes and new features. The latest version (as of this post) can be found here:
Please disregard my previous post. An upgrade to the latest stable release resolved the problem.
I’m having the same issue on my wife’s site. Her permalink structure was setup like this:
/index.php/archives/%postname%/
Has anyone found a resolution to this?

In reply to: Relative Paths to Images and PermalinksUpdate: I’ve had to disable permalinks for now. I have some other content on the same domain that was being effected. I’ll have to revisit this at a later time.

In reply to: Relative Paths to Images and PermalinksSomething else that I’ve noticed recently is that with permalinks enabled, the link now results in a 404 even though the URL is valid. Again, when I disable permalinks or rename my .htaccess file the image returns and the link works.

In reply to: Relative Paths to Images and PermalinksI’m using an absolute URL/path and I’m still seeing a problem. You can see it in action with a description here:

In reply to: Relative Paths to Images and PermalinksI experienced this as well. Luckily, the site I’m working on only recieved its first post today, so changing the img tag was simple.
Is this the expected behavior, or is something actually wrong here?
Edit: Changing the img tag to use a full URL had no effect. Anyone have a solution?

In reply to: RumGallery ProblemSeach the output of phpinfo() for “safe_mode”. You’re looking for the instance under the “PHP Core” heading. This will tell you if safe_mode is On or Off.
