In reply to: [Variations] Auther Avatar alt textHello Elize,
Here’s how to add alt text to your author avatar by creating a custom setup:Click “Edit site” on the top of any post page to edit your post template. Find the Author block, turn off “Show avatar” in its settings in right sidebar. Add your own Image block before it and upload author photo. You can add alt text to this image in the right sidebar settings.
To keep everything aligned nicely, wrap both the Image and Author blocks in a Row (change the Group block to Row type in settings).
If you’re still having issues, feel free to send an email to support@tyler.com with details.

In reply to: [Variations] Blog Page ResizingHello,
To adjust the width of the post grid:- Click on the post grid wrapper (group block) and look for the “content width” setting in the right sidebar under group settings. Adjust as needed.
- For more details, check the width settings documentation here: Customizing Layout Width.
- Also, ensure the block’s alignment is set to Full Width. Here’s how to adjust it: Change Alignment.
- If that doesn’t work, check the same settings in any nested groups.
- Additionally, review the Content block settings in your page template. To access it, click “Edit SITE” at the top of the page.
If you’re still having issues, feel free to send an email to support@tyler.com with details about what you see when you click the grid.

In reply to: [Variations] Theme front page is overwriting my blog pageHello James,
Thanks for asking about setting up a blog with the Variations theme. Here’s a simple guide for you:
- First, don’t worry about the “Posts page” option in your settings. Leave that drop-down unselected. You can check out this screenshot to see what I mean: https://snipboard.io/ZLaiEj.jpg
- Instead, create a separate blog page. Go to your Dashboard, click Pages, and add a new one. Name it “Blog” or whatever you prefer.
- Variations theme has built-in blog templates. On your new Blog page, click the blue plus button to open the Block Inserter.
- Type “Blog” in the search field. You’ll see some template options. Pick one you like and publish. Here’s a screenshot to help with this step: https://snipboard.io/s4VBA3.jpg
Your blog posts will now automatically appear on this page.
Don’t forget to add your new Blog page to your menu so people can find it easily.
If you need further assistance, please contact support@tyler.com with a link to your site.Hi there,
Thanks for your message and for explaining the issue further.
I understand the challenge. While I can’t give you the exact structure needed for your design, I believe you can achieve the look you want by adjusting the structure of your blocks. Here’s an approximate solution:
Since it’s inner Groups and Headings that are causing the issue, you can set them to “Wide Width”. For the images providing the ‘wave’ effect for splitting sections, instead of placing them inside a group, you can insert them in a separate “Cover” block below the group. Set their margins and paddings to 0 to ensure they have no indentation.
This should help you maintain the design without causing the horizontal scroll issue.
I hope this helps!
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out and providing details about the issue you’re facing.
It sounds like the problem might be related to the configuration of your blocks. Could you let me know if you used any of the templates from Tyler.com or if your pages are created with custom blocks?
From your website code, it seems that when the Group block is set to “Full Width” and contains another block (like Group, Heading, etc.) also set to “Full Width,” and both blocks do not have the “Inner blocks use content width” switch enabled with a specific content width set (e.g., 1400 pixels), the inner group may overflow outside the outer group (see screenshot https://snipboard.io/FyWAE9.jpg).
Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check and Reconfigure Blocks: Ensure all your blocks have a content width limit, and set the inner blocks to “Wide Width.”
Remove Custom CSS and Clear Cache: Temporarily remove any custom CSS you’ve added and clear your site’s cache to see if this resolves the issue.
Check for Plugin Interference: Sometimes plugins can cause unexpected behavior, so consider disabling plugins one by one to identify any conflicts.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, please feel free to reach out to support support@tyler.com with screenshots of your block settings. We’ll take a closer look and help you find a solution.
Thanks again for your patience and understanding!Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Variations] Gallery display changedHi,
It sounds like the gallery settings might be causing the issue. Please try the following steps to fix it:
- Place the “Gallery” block in a “Group” block.
- Group Block Settings: Set alignment to full width, enable “Inner blocks use content width,” and set the content width (e.g., 1200 pixels).
- Gallery Block Settings: Set alignment to full width and turn on “Crop images to fit.” In the Styles tab, set “Block Spacing” to rems (e.g., 1 rem).
- Check the image settings:
- Extract an image from the gallery and place it under the Gallery block.
- In the right sidebar, check the width and height settings. Delete any fixed values and drag the image back into the gallery.
- Clear Your Browser Cache: Press Ctrl+F5 (Windows) or Command+R (Mac) to refresh the page and clear the cache.

In reply to: [Variations] Variations Theme not activating properlyHello,
It looks like your previous theme’s settings might have persisted after you installed the Variations theme. Here’s how you can fix this:
- Start from Scratch with WP Reset Plugin:
If you prefer to start completely from scratch, you can use the WP Reset plugin. This tool allows you to reset your WordPress installation to its default settings. Keep in mind that this will delete all the pages and posts you’ve created, and you’ll need to start over. Here’s a tutorial on how to use it: WP Reset Plugin Tutorial.
- Edit Existing Pages and Install Templates:
You can also edit the existing pages and install the templates from Tyler.com. Follow the home page setup instructions in this part of the tutorial: Home Page Setup. But, please make sure to follow the tutorial steps in order, even if the current page content looks different from the tutorial. This way, you will configure all pages correctly.

In reply to: [Variations] Blog feauture image sizeHello, Thank you for your question.
First of all you should use big images if you want to stretch them to full width. Please use at least 1920px. But at the same time don’t use too large images – they will be loading for a very long time.
The second step is to change settings of the blog post featured image:
0) Login to your website.
1) Go to any blog post.
2) Press the “Edit Site” button on the top left corner.
3) Open the left sidebar by clicking the 3 lines on the top left corner.
4) Find the “Featured Image” block and select it.
5) Open the right sidebar by clicking the “Settings” button (square icon) on the top right corner.
6) Select the “Block” tab.
7) Select the “Styles” tab (circle icon).
8) Find the “SCALE” section and select the “Cover” option.
9) Save the changes. If you need more help, please contact us via email support@tyler.com.
Thank you.
Hello.
Thank you for your message.
The default cover block has not many options to set up. Also, by default WordPress doesn’t support media queries for now.
You can change the image behavior in the cover block using Focal Point or Fixed Background options on the right sidebar in the Block tab, but still the same settings will be on desktop and mobile.
If you need more help, please contact us via email support@tyler.com. Please, provide as detailed descriptions as you can in your message.
Thank you.
