Hi ampforwp,
That can’t be true. There’s CSS on every page of my site. If what you say were true, then every single page would have errors. They don’t.
🙂
Thank You
Thank You
Thank YOU
🙂I’m not sure why it takes so long for changes to show up. Maybe caching? even though I clear the cache.
I’m afraid to make more changes b/c I don’t know how long before I can see how they look…
Thank you, though…
I just checked my AMP pages on my iPhone and found that some changes have taken place. They aren’t quite what I was thinking, but overall they are quite good. I’ll try to change the blockquote background … and if that works I’ll close this thread.
the problem is that the page with the custom CSS thing doesn’t seem to work for the color scheme thing…
It could be that I started using AMP for WordPress so many years ago, that the color scheme function has been changed entirely.
I’m not good enough at coding to use the CSS thing to make the color scheme changes I thought I could make using that page.
I’m not sure it’s resolved. I’m waiting to hear from AmpforWP
you are AMAZING!!!!
Yes, I tested the speed and it was unchanged.
If you put the error on github, then I take it that it isn’t an error I made…
than you SO MUCH for your amazing … and on target … help 🙂
Karen
Hi 🙂
Yes, I want the grey background color to be white. And I’d like the vertical line to be dark green… but, I couldn’t get the dark green color to replace the blue for my navigation…. So maybe that should just stay dark grey or black, whatever it is.
🙂
Do you think the Design Color Scheme thing doesn’t work anymore because my site is so large now?
Karen
I found the CSS thing…
On the same screen I can change my navigation bar color, so I tried that, to make it match my desktop. In the Google thing, they said having Desktop and AMP match was a good thing since it helped visitors form a clear impression of the site over different devices…But, it’s taking a really long time for the change to take effect… So, I’m a little unclear. I was thinking I would get rid of the grey background in the AMP blockquotes, but I’m not sure the change is worth the accompanying slowness…
And, the navigation bar didn’t change color… after waiting several minutes…
It does!!! And it’s not as bad as I remember…
Also, my new theme doesn’t have a grey background to blockquotes so they are much easier to read…
Happiness!!!
You are a Prince !!!
Thank you So Much !!!!
Okay, So it’s slowly sinking in. That’s for “blockquotes”… But I stopped using blockquotes because of how much space they eat up.
Instead I started using html to put color behind a quote, and I indented it something like one pixel. I think I had to have at least pixel for some reason…
I’m going to go try a block quote on a page and see if my AMP page reproduces it…
🙂
Where do you find the Custom CSS thing? I can’t find it.
I have a customizing CSS thing for my Theme, Miteri. I’ll ask them if I can put AMP CSS into it…
It’s scary to try stuff though, I have a fear of weirding out my site…
Do you know, by any chance, if I go to my AMP menu and for Design it says, Design Two, then does that mean I’m actually using Design Two????
Wow, you are VERY good with detailed help. !!!
🙂This is pretty exciting… And it still loads AMP fast?
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [AMP for WP - Accelerated Mobile Pages] Can I delete the AMP plugin?Yes, you’re right. Early on and for years the AMP plugin was necessary for AMP for WordPress to work.
I think the dependency stopped in the last year. I remember a thing saying NOT to activate AMP, or to deactivate it… I forget.
I wasn’t sure if that also meant we could delete the AMP plugin. Sometimes when a plugin is deactivated things in it still exist in a useful way in the database (or something) so deleting the plugin can create problems.
Apparently AMP for WordPress has completely removed the need for the AMP plugin. I deleted it and nothing bad happened. 🙂
