Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: From Subdomain to MainIt seems I have found a solution!
I deactivated my plugins, logged in and the Dashboard told me where I should find the problem (basically renavigating the cache location in wp-config.php and wp-cache-config.php by removing the /temp/).
The problem I have now is that though my homepage is up and running (with the exception that my logo is gone…) the rest of my site is still 404 when clicked.

In reply to: From Subdomain to MainHI there and thank you for your patience!
I don’t seem to have any folder in my filemanager called wp_options. I take it this is a problem… It isn’t in any of my backups (including the one that I made before even opening a file manager…)
There is, however, an options folder in my wp-admin directory, but that doesn’t contain any mention of the word temp at all. I’m not sure if this is correct or not.
I think what it is that I’m not understanding is why all the files weren’t carried over correctly? Also, when you say isolating the problem by turning off the plugins, I’m not sure what the problem would look like?

In reply to: From Subdomain to MainThanks for the help! But I still have a few questions
1) what do you mean have a look around the WP-Super-Cache? What am I looking for? Wrong Permissions?
2) I have followed instructions for moving on my website’s location on the same server, but to a new directory. And I can’t seem to login anymore since I have changed the URI and URL from http://www.conqueringlionpictures.com/temp/wp-admin to just http://www.conqueringlionpictures.com/wp-admin (I just get the super cache error messages)
3) That’s weird that temp is still showing up, since there is no temp folder in my /public_html/ directory… Does that mean those files failed to transfer over? Should I just dump them into where they are “supposed” to be?
Thanks!

In reply to: From Subdomain to MainHi There,
When I follow the above instructions I get to the home page and it looks like this:
I can also not get further than the homepage (it goes straight to a 404 page).
When I try to login to my dashbaord (http://conqueringlionpictures.com/wp-admin/) I get nothing but an error page like this: http://imgur.com/w9ouMZg
Here is what my directory looks like (http://i.imgur.com/28cVjnt.png).
Any help of making heads or tails of this would be GREATLY appreciated.

In reply to: From Subdomain to MainHi there,
That page is full of wonderful resources, however I seem to be running into a problem.
I have no idea how to access my files. I have wordpress installed through my cpanel on hostgator and have been editing my files through the dashbaord of my wordpress.org site.
Any help on how I would do this?

In reply to: From Subdomain to Mainlovely thanks so much
or better yet, is it possible to have it occupy the entire width of the page across all platforms?
Hi there,
Though my slider is resizing, on mobile devices like ipad the slider refuses to sit in the centre, choosing instead to remain aligned on the right despite the option for centre alignment being selected. Note this is for my project pages under the “productions” menu.
I would love some help if you have any ideas.

Hi there, how do I change the type of font on the slider?
(http://conqueringlionpictures.com/temp/) here is my website
woops, never mind. I’m an idiot. I just have to add a new slider tab. Duh.

In reply to: Uniform Footer ColourI would also love to put my social media icons (installed using the Social Media Widget) on the same level as the “powered by wordpress” and “copyright” text – right aligned.

In reply to: .Com and .OrgToday I realized there was a difference between .com and .org.
I had set up a .com wordpress and mapped my domain onto it (the domain was purchased through GoDaddy but hosted through HostGator).
What I wanted to do was map it onto a .org wordpress.
I have installed WordPress.org through fantastico on Host Gator.
But now, I seem only to be able to get on either the wordpress.com or the wordpress.org site – and it seems random which one will let me in…
Essentially, my question has a couple parts:
a) why am I having problems with logging into both .com and .org?
b) I dont want the .com anymore, so how do I transfer the mapping of my original domain from the .com site to the .org one?
