In reply to: Local install of WordPress and unable to access WP-AdminI am still being denied access to wp-admin, this feels like a user rights problem. In wp-config.php I have now used both the user I setup in sql and the user root when connecting to the Db but I am still getting the message ‘Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.’ If I use the login button on my website on the localhost, regardless of the settings having been changed to localhost globally, it redirects to the live site and logs me in there.

wp-admin does not load with the error
Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.
This I assume is a user access permissions problem can you advise please

I was thinking it was a user rights problem although I gave the user in Mysql for wp-admin the same rights as root
Created XAMPP, unziped the WordPress copy into the htdocs folder and then uploaded the SQL dump.

In reply to: Local install of WordPress and unable to access WP-AdminThank You, That has stopped the error message about Woocommerce, unfortunately the last line, “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page” still exists. There are links such as the Login button that still points at our live site online but without wp-admin I can’t fix any of them. Any further suggestion would be appreciated.
