In reply to: [Shortn. It] Getting 404 Error When Using Short DomainYay! That did it!
Not sure why I didn’t think to try this before but I wasn’t thinking of adding the short domain as an addon domain and THEN redirecting it.
Hoping anyone else who runs into this issue will see the workaround.
Thank you very much for the reply & your help. Loving the flexibility of this plugin combined with it’s simplicity.
Best wishes!

In reply to: [Shortn. It] Getting 404 Error When Using Short DomainToday, I’ve actually tried deleting the alias for http://cole.uno in cPanel and adding it as an addon domain, redirecting to http://coleruddick.com. This still didn’t solve the issue and I get the same exact results as in my previous post.
Something to note is that the coleruddick.com domain is actually also an addon domain on this server. Not sure if that would make any difference, but figured it’s worth stating.
So, I’ve now gone back to deleting the addon domain cole.uno (since I don’t need a directory on the server for it) and re-adding it as an alias.
Now, http://coleruddick.com/AKK1m still works using a short link generated by the Shortn.it plugin, but http://cole.uno/AKK1m results in a 404. The plugin settings are still set to “Different Domain” with the cole.uno domain in the field and http://cole.uno still redirects fine to site’s root (home).
Any idea what I’m missing here? I’m currently stumped.
