I get invalid user error when I tried that command. Can you briefly explain what this command is doing?
chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www

THANKS! That was the problem. I’ve uploaded numerous wordpress installations before and never had this happen. But the settings under Misc were messed up.

never mind I read how to add apache to the psacln usegroup using a linex command.

or can I move apache into the plesk group name?
