In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] WP APIHi briannyc2009,
That’s the first time I’ve heard a request to save off JSON responses. Presently Simply Static doesn’t do any JavaScript processing nor does it try to process any requests containing GET params. I think Simply Static probably wouldn’t be very well suited for what you’re trying to do.
Even if Simply Static could save off JSON responses, you’d still have to do a fair bit of work in telling it which requests to try, and at that point I think you might be better off doing something separately from Simply Static — though if you disagree I’m all ears 🙂

ScottHi peertavori,
Sorry to hear about the trouble you’re having. That’s strange that you’re still having issues with URLs in the feed — would you be able to email me the URL to your feed so that I can take a look at the page and how your server is responding to GET requests? If you like, you can email me at: scott@codeofconduct.co
As for the archives, are there any links from your homepage that would eventually get you to the archives? Or, did you try adding one of the archive pages to Additional URLs (in advanced settings)? You mentioned “all languages”… I’m wondering if Simply Static just isn’t able to find a link to over to the archives in other languages maybe? Let me know.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] WorksThanks mithrill! I’ve tried to make Simply Static better than wget in a few ways, one being that it doesn’t require any command line knowledge, but another in that it’s better at rewriting URLs, as you noticed. I’m glad to hear it’s working well for you!

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Zip shows nothing thereThanks paxter, that helps narrow down the issue a bit (at least for your sites). I’ll take a closer look at the Divi theme.
ccoward15- What theme are you using? Would you be able to share the URL for your WordPress site? If you prefer, you can email at: scott@codeofconduct.co

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] schedule GenerateHi Nathan,
It’s not presently possible to schedule static file generation with Simply Static.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Zip shows nothing thereAlright, a couple more questions if I could. In Settings->Advanced, there’s an option to Delete temporary files — can you uncheck that and then run Simply Static again? When it’s done, check the Temporary Files Directory.
Are your files in that directory? Is there a zip in there? Is the zip a 0kb file?
It sounds like Simply Static was probably generating your files, but maybe there’s a problem with the library I’m using to create the zip files.
Best,
ScottNot presently since it relies on a series of ajax request from the browser in order to function. But I’m working on a replacement for that, so hopefully soon you’ll be able to.
Best,
ScottGood to hear. Thanks for the update, Manuel!

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Version 1.7 -> 1.8 -> Back to 1.7I’ll mention something else another user ran into: they deleted everything from Additional URLs and Additional Files and Directories and then they were able to export successfully. If that works for you, or the Incognito method works, let me know. That’ll give me something to work off of to figure out why this is happening.
As far as downgrading, you’ll need to uninstall and reinstall. Simply Static doesn’t handle just replacing the files with a prior version currently.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Simply static & multisiteTo be honest I haven’t done any testing with multisite, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an issue or two. I’m not sure offhand why the structure in the zip would be flat. I haven’t seen that before.
For the missing pages, are you seeing anything helpful in the export log? e.g. 404’s or 500’s or such?

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] I hope it can run on windowsfghhfg: Can you think of any reason why your WordPress installation would not be able to make GET requests to itself? e.g. firewall, htaccess rules, etc.?
andrej.pavlovic: If it’s mostly working other than that I’ll see if I can get that specific issue fixed. Should be relatively straightforward. Thanks for the bug report.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Zip shows nothing thereHi guys,
Have you used a prior version of Simply Static, and if so, did it work for you then? I’m just curious if I broke it with a recent change or it just never worked for you.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Generation hangs on the last fileHi antilimit,
Thanks for your help in troubleshooting this. Would you be able to share the URL to your WordPress installation? If you prefer, you can email me at: scott@codeofconduct.co
Best,
ScottHi Manuel,
I hate to ask this, but could you try uninstalling and reinstalling Simply Static? The plugin should’ve created a wp_simply_static_pages table. If that didn’t happen then something went terribly wrong when it was installed the first time.
Best,
Scott
