In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Quid of deleted postsHi Pierre,
Presently Simply Static won’t delete any files. If you delete a (dynamic) page and then generate static pages again it will simply not generate that deleted page, but if that static page was generated previously it won’t remove it.
I do have a feature request to remove deleted pages though. So that feature will make it into Simply Static eventually.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Include robots.txtI agree! This is on our list of things to add to Simply Static. In the interim, you can utilize Simply Static’s Additional URLs/Files/Dirs feature to include this file.

ScottHi farrisgoldstein,
Unfortunately, at present, no, there’s no way around this. Simply Static assumes that the Site URL and WordPress URL are fairly similar, e.g. with the same host but a different path.
I see two options:
a. Run some kind of post-processing task that goes through the static files and rewrites the URLs for you, or
b. Move away from using RewriteRules / have the Site URL and WordPress URL more in line with each other.Sorry, I wish I had a better answer for you.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Resource Usage Details?Hi farrisgoldstein,
I am sorry to say that presently I don’t have any information about what resources would constrain how long it takes to generate the static site. I’ll do a bit of research and respond here.

ScottHi DavideWebCenter,
I’ve tried Simply Static with a site with 1000 posts and it worked fine. I haven’t really tried anything larger than that yet, but it should work for you. But if you run into any issues, let me know and we’ll get them fixed for you.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Bug in url with #Awesome, I’m glad to hear it’s working well for you now. Thanks!
That’s great Andy! Glad to hear that upgrading to v1.3.5 fixed the issue.
FYI, this should be fixed for you as of v1.4.0.
Thanks for reporting this issue, Christiaan. I’ll take a look and see if I can figure out why Simply Static is eating up so much memory — I have a couple theories. Hopefully we can get things working so that an increase in memory isn’t needed.

In reply to: [Simply Static - The Static Site Generator] Magnific Vimeo Links not working.Hi justinmars,
I’m not sure I’m following what you’re saying. I looked at your imgur link and it looks okay. Simply Static will still include links to external sites — what are you expecting it to do with those links?
Best,
ScottHi Pierre,
I’ll take a look and see what I can do. Thanks for reporting this!

ScottHi Pierre,
That sounds like a great change, and super simple to do. I’ll get it into the next version.
