We tried and the plugin work perfectly. When this problem occurred?
– Have you tried another twitter account?
– Have you tried to restart it and see if this solve the problem?
– Do you see any error message below the first notification bar after you do start / stopHere is a solution from one of our users :
“Just got it to work on one site. Here’s what I did. 1) Revoked access in Twitter. 2)Deleted Twitter account in TOP. 3)Stop tweet 4) Reauthorized app. 5) Start tweet. ”

Your fix should be ok, the error was in the view sample tweet function, so the posting should work fine!
However we just fixed everything in the latest update, I am sorry for the incovenience!

Probably you didn’t get my point here. I just said that if there are people who just updated the plugin, broke their site and they don’t know how to fix it, I am willing to help.
As we both now, once the website is broken, an update can’t fix it, the only fix is by using the ftp, of course I can explain how to do it, and people already here were helpful, but I said in case that somebody is not really able to do that ftp fix and want some help.
Anyway thanks a lot of clarifications!
