You’ve probably already found a solution to this. In case you haven’t and in case you’re willing to mess around with a plugin, one well-crafted and well-documented plugin for the task is image metadata cruncher
For basic image uploads it works like a dream.
Appreciate the rapid response, Peter, and the suggestion. I’ll try faster Image Insert shortly if my current experiments with next generation gallery prove no more fruitful.
