In reply to: How to Remove 'Leave a Comment' BoxAlready have actually, no response yet, but thank you.
I guess I’ll open it up in DreamWeaver and see what I can find.

In reply to: How to Remove 'Leave a Comment' BoxSwitched to Twenty Eleven and Comments didn’t display, so it must be the theme. Is there a chance I might be able to delete code from it to remove comments?
If so, where would that code probably be? index.php?

In reply to: How to Remove 'Leave a Comment' BoxDeactivated and I now have the Comments option. I disabled comments, but it still says ‘Comments Off’ and now below it it says ‘Comments are Closed’.
Will get to work on the others now.

In reply to: How to Remove 'Leave a Comment' BoxI didn’t see it so I clicked on ‘Screen Options’ and it doesn’t display it as an option either. I unticked sharing and now it says ‘comments off’, but I would like for it to be gone altogether.
Thanks for the quick response.

In reply to: Migrated to Namecheap, now Trouble with Database & wp-configSo I switched to HostGator because I know there support is decent.
I’m still getting this though from earlier:
The image slider, nivo, isn’t displaying images and I can’t add widgets. When I pull up widgets under the WP dashboard it shows them and it shows the places they can be put in the right hand column. There are drop-down arrows so I can put the widget there, but when I click on them they don’t open up and I can’t drag the widgets.
That Seacoast described as:
Lack of proper write and read permission by WP to ‘localhost’
I’m talking to they’re support now and they’re not sure what he means either.
Also, I tried using the script in the cPanel to install and have the same problem.
So far the only host I’ve been able to get this working with is 000webhost, using their free plan.

In reply to: Migrated to Namecheap, now Trouble with Database & wp-configThey sounded good, but I’ve been #1 in line for their live chat for the past 15 minutes and still haven’t spoken to them.
I pulled up some reviews and am now looking at a reseller account with mochahost or kvchosting.

In reply to: Migrated to Namecheap, now Trouble with Database & wp-configSo does bluehost have unlimited bandwidth, just limited by the plan’s transfer speed?
Is it a decent host for non-wp sites?
Thanks

In reply to: Migrated to Namecheap, now Trouble with Database & wp-configPreferably a host with good reseller plans.

In reply to: Migrated to Namecheap, now Trouble with Database & wp-configNamecheap refunded me, I didn’t think they would be willing to. they’re hosting wasn’t great, but I like their customer service. I don’t care for GoDaddys and I’ll be transferring all of my domains as they expire.
Can you recommend me a host? I know you posted WordPress’s recommended hosts earlier, but I’m not sure what host to choose. Although it is important to me that WordPress works, only 1/3 of my sites are WP. The rest I code in php/html/css.
So whoever the host is, I need them to provide good service fot regular sites as well as WP.
Thanks.

In reply to: Migrated to Namecheap, now Trouble with Database & wp-configWish I knew that before hand, I bought a year of hosting 3 days ago. They were able to upload my old database though, so now the widgets are displaying properly on the site.
However, I can’t edit them from the admin section, drop down menu still doesn’t work, and the slider still isn’t displaying.

Thanks

In reply to: Migrated to Namecheap, now Trouble with Database & wp-configHow can I fix that?
By the way, I didn’t import my old database, I made a new one. Everything else is the old version though.
Every time I try to import in phpMyAdmin I get this error:
http://i.imgur.com/6IuLz.jpgI had a ping optimizer plugin. That seems to be causing the problem.

In reply to: Migrated to Namecheap, now Trouble with Database & wp-configAlright, the site is up, but looks like it isn’t entirely fixed.
Any idea what’s wrong?

In reply to: Migrated to Namecheap, now Trouble with Database & wp-configGot it working. For anyone that has this problem in the future, use ‘localhost’ as the host in your wp-config.php file.
