In reply to: [Sitemap by click5] Can’t Disable PaginationHello @sezgee
Thanks for your feedback!!
In response to your questions:
1. Try to enter for example 250. In general, we’re trying to make sure people don’t create pages with thousands of links, and then complain that our plugin is slow, so by default we paginate by 100 results. We understand it’s not clear in the user interface, so it will be improved in the next release.
2. We don’t have such feature at this point, but we will add it to our list of ideas. In the next release, we will definitely add unique CSS IDs in the HTML, so you can hide it via CSS if necessary.
3. We will add it to our list of feature ideas as well.

In reply to: [Sitemap by click5] Turn off XML and Robots.txt before activationHello @carstenwh
We would need more specific information to help troubleshoot the issue with your website. We have test website with over 10,000 posts and everything works fine.
Could you describe what steps have you taken while updating the plugin?
Did you deactivate the previous version of the plugin? Or, did you just delete it from the FTP?
On witch page are you getting the 500 error?
Sounds like it doesn’t happen right after you active the plugin, if you are able to change the settings.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Sitemap by click5] Turn off XML and Robots.txt before activationHello @carstenwh,
Release candidate of the latest version v1.0.35 of our plugin where the XML Sitemap and robots.txt generation is disabled by default, is ready for testing at:
https://www.click5interactive.com/sitemap-by-click5-v1.0.35-RC1.zip
Just keep in mind that this applies only to new installations. If you are already using our plugin, you have the settings already stored in the database.
This update will affect only new installations.
Hope it makes sense.

In reply to: [NSFW] [Sitemap by click5] excessive googlebot of sitemapHello @twowiseladies,
The number of times Google bot is visiting your website depends on how frequently your website is being updated. The more frequently your website is being updated, the more frequently Google’s bot is going to crawl your website.
From the online marketing perspective, it’s actually a good sign that Google visits your website often, because as a result it will always have the latest version of your website crawled and cached. That’s all beneficial from the SEO standpoint.
If you are suspecting an issue with our plugin, if you could enable the WordPress Debug mode and post here any errors your website is generating. Then we can try to troubleshoot the issue further.
Here are instructions on how to enable debug mode – https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/

In reply to: [Sitemap by click5] Add To Blacklist IssueHello @shirtguy72,
This is a bizarre issue.
We’re using blacklist feature in HTML and XML sitemaps on over a 100 of our websites.
Are you sure there is no server side caching involved? Some hosting companies like for example WP Engine have additional caching enabled, which causes delays in some of the changes being visible immediately.

In reply to: [Sitemap by click5] Turn off XML and Robots.txt before activationHi @carstenwh,
Thank you for your additional feedback!
This is definitely a possibility and we will take it into the consideration while releasing next version of our plugin – v1.0.35, which we’re currently working on.
I will keep you posted.
Thanks,
click5 TeamHello @karban,
We are very sorry about the issues which you are experiencing with our plugin.
This is definitely a glitch, because you should never see a r.txt file. There should be only the main robots.txt file, and a backup of the version before installation of our plugin – robots-click5-backup.txt.
We are investigating the issue and fix will be included in the next version of our plugin v1.0.35, which will be released in the next 7-10 days.
We will keep you posted.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Sitemap by click5] The plugin cannot be activatedHi @carstenwh,
Thanks for the feedback, but these are generic error messages, which doesn’t give us much to work with. Could you please enable the WordPress Debug mode and post here any errors your website is generating?

Regardless, there will be always a combination of hosting, amount of memory, and number of posts, which will kill the sitemap generation process. That’s why we’ve decided to break up XML sitemaps in the batches of 1000 links per XML file, for example /sitemap-post-1.xml, /sitemap-post-2.xml, /sitemap-post-3.xml, and so forth. You got the idea.
It’s going to be included in the version 1.0.35 which should be available in 7-10 days.
