I already did the following from the Codex:
To Change Your Password
Through the automatic emailer
Through phpMyAdminI don’t feel comfortable messing with the other options.
So, here’s the update – made a new account to make it the main admin account. I can edit the passwords from the back end for all accounts – although I still think it was just the original account that got a glitch during the automatic setup.
Can also change the password through the front end.The automatic mailer for password reset doesn’t work for any accounts, admin or customer. And this is the glitch that I need to resolve now.
Note: The password change notification does go through… so it’s just that initial email with the reset token that isn’t going throughThe hosting provider didn’t help much last time – just sent me to a bunch of documentation and threw up their hands. Going to ask them specifically, though, if they have any sort of security setting, or anything preventing that email to go through.
Off to deactivate some plugins first, though

I want to try this first, see if there was a glitch in the creation of the account. Because another account seemed to work fine in the password reset – both as a customer and as an admin.If this doesn’t work, I’ll do a full sweep of the plugins and theme – but hoping someone here may have insight. Will update with progress

I haven’t even tried checking the boxes yet. For now this plugin is disabled
