Yes is possible, everything is described in the documentation README_OFFICIAL.txt
I rewrote all the JavaScripts inclusion to make this possible, it was 1 day of work, but the warning should be gone and my plug-in should behave much better with other plug-ins too.
I hope to not have introduced new bugs, but might be possible.

No. Plug-in can be used also in MS mode with two different modes, one of that requires that code.
Don’t suggest dangerous modifications without proper testing on all modes supported by the plug-in.

So take your theme, discover where “above your posts” means and then there you want the code.I suggest using Firebug for Firefox, it helps a lot understanding what is where.
