In answer to your queries:
1) When I click on the 404 link (identified through Google Webmaster Tools) all I meant was that when I take out the ‘function.session-start’ from the url in my browsers address bar the page/image then loads fine;
2) Sorry, I just meant that I found out about all these 404’s from my Google’s Webmaster Tools.

Literally all I did when using MLA to bulk add ALT text to my images was to add my text into your ‘ALT TEXT’ window and then hit update – nothing else. And everything appeared to update just fine as shown in MLA. I appreciate you saying that MLA doesn’t do anything to the individual URLs but my three hundred or so 404s that have just appeared have only come about following the adding of the ALT texts.

Must admit never seen or had 404s with ‘function.session-start’ at the end before – I’m not super WP savvy anyway with all this!!!
