Thanks for your help.
I removed my site’s access to the CDN which seems to make the content ‘mobile friendly’. I suppose there is some conflict in how CSS is being delivered from there.

Yeah, I checked it that way too, just to make sure it wasn’t an index thing.
I’m not using a mobile theme, just the standard Sela theme, with only a few changes in font sizes/colours/widgets – nothing that I can see would make it unresponsive on mobile devices, and nothing which wasn’t working before the last week.
