Here is some more info:
1. After having installed plugin I registered a Twitter App according to your guidelines.
2. Logged in with Twitter user for the first time. “Email required” was selected in the plugin settings.
3. Filled out the form with an e-mail address and clicked ok. This e-mail address was not the same as the one registered with the Twitter account.
4. No verification e-mail was sent to that address however, but the user was registered in wp-admin anyway.
5. Logged in with my Facebook account, also first time. This account has the same email address as 3. above.
6. When I cheked the users in wp-admin I saw that the Twitter user had been overwritten by my facebook account. The name and biography information was still left from the Twitter user who had had that exact user ID before.
7. Now, when trying to log in with the Twitter user the enail verification popup described in the post above comes up. This happens even after remove all traces from the Twitter user and I alter its username in the database. After some more research this seems to be a touchscreen conflict. The buttons do work on a Windows 8 laptop, but only when using the touchscreen. The thumbnail and caption buttons both work correctly. In IE 10 everything is ok.

Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [GPP Slideshow] 1.3.1 with WP 3.5 doesn't work with gallery shortcodeThanks for sharing this great plugin which has always worked flawlessly for me. I can confirm, however, that the plugin is no longer working. In addition to the infomation provided by the thread author, there is no longer a gallery settings page in the admin area menu like there used to be.
