Hi Guys, did anybody find a solution at all?
I noticed this wasn’t working myself, the pages were 404ing and it was generally messing up my site. I have since added the /category/ back into my url structure and re submitted my sitemap to webmasters.
I am now getting 404 error notifications from webmasters. It, for some reason is still looking for the old categories that were stripped. They are now gone, but Google bot’s still checking for them.
I would love a fix for this, or at least advice on the best course of action.
