In reply to: [404 to 301 - Redirect, Log and Notify 404 Errors] Deleting the LogOne more question. I see several errors where the requester is looking for an image gif, png, jpg. Should I be adding those and creating redirects to the image file?

In reply to: [404 to 301 - Redirect, Log and Notify 404 Errors] Deleting the LogThanks Joel.
I was getting frustrated because I had deleted the log after making perhaps 30 or mere redirects and then having to enter them again.
It would be really great to actually allow the user to enter a redirect before the first 404 error. I am replacing an older HTML site with perhaps 50 pages and I would like to be able to create a redirect for many of the old site’s pages before the the bots and visitors find a problem.
As I said. Your work here is fantastic. I am sure I’m not the only person to want to replace an HTML site with a WP site. I have a few more to do for our mom and pop business.
Next I need to replace http://www.sadlight.com, http://www.homephototherapy.com and http://www.catchasmoker.com which are older style sites that need to be replaced.
I am not a programmer but just an old fart (nearly 70) that’s been a computer hobbyist since 1977 when I bought my first PC. Created my first website in 1997 and my wife and I started our micro business in 1998 (www.amjo.net) and it’s great to be able to keep it going to keep my mind sharp.
I ramble sometimes. In this case I have rambled so that you know how important the work that huys like you do to help us old farts!

In reply to: [All-in-One WP Migration and Backup] Huge DatabaseCheers!
I was able to solve the issue by placing the updraft folder at ‘../updraft’ and that did shift it to the root.
It would be nice with your application to allow the user to select or enter any directory and exclude it.
Many thanks
Chris
You are my hero!
Thanks, that worked well!

In reply to: [All-in-One WP Migration and Backup] Huge DatabaseI can find no way to move the updraft folder out of the wp-content folder other than to do the move before creating the migration file..
The settings for UpdraftPlus are written as
“Backup directory specified is writable, which is good. This is where UpdraftPlus will write the zip files it creates initially. This directory must be writable by your web server. It is relative to your content directory (which by default is called wp-content). Do not place it inside your uploads or plugins directory, as that will cause recursion (backups of backups of backups of…).”
It would be great if you could add the ability in the Advanced Options to exclude certain folders from the migration.
Perhaps you can consider that for one of your upgrades.

In reply to: [All-in-One WP Migration and Backup] Huge DatabaseI have the same issue and I’m using UPDRAFT backup. Is there a way to exclude the \wp-content\updraft from the migration file.
I mirror lupach’s comment. Keep up the great work!

In reply to: [All-in-One WP Migration and Backup] Table Maker Plugin – Tables not movedI tried deactivating all plugins except all-in-one migration and I’m afraid that did not help. The plugin moves but the data does not?

I am looking to try a new host as I am having issues with Godaddy. It does appear that Bluehost may not be the ideal choice?

In reply to: 413 error (Request Entity Too Large) while postingfragmintz – I love ya! I was going nuts trying to add new themes that were over about 2M in size and your posting about Hotspot Shield that I run quite often and when I turned it off, all was well. I’m not going to kiss you or hug you but I sure liked reading your posting above!
I had been chasing this for 4-5 hours and finally found your post!
Thanks!
I’m guessing that the ‘oldbrit’ is really Scottish or Dutch. I think this is a great plug-in. I happen to be an Old Brit as well as I’m a British Born Canadian living in the USA. It does what it’s supposed to do.
My first use it at the bottom of the page:
http://cane.com/how-i-was-led-to-save-money/I will be buying the Pro version soon, when I need the form capability.
I think it’s fun to be a sexagenarian.
I have no idea why Patrick Saad would have said this? I am using the free version at http://cane.com/how-i-was-led-to-save-money/ and I’m elated! I will buy the Pro version or the Developer Version later.
This is a 10 Star App

In reply to: [Wordpress Sticky Notes] Suggestion..I have the same request/suggestion. I would prefer to see the notes in the Admin area as that’s where I am most of the time.
Great plugin! Thanks!
