After troubleshooting for 3 days the hosting company agreed to switch the site to a new server. As soon as they did the site start working and I could upload stuff.
They have no idea why there was a problem with the old server as they said that they try and keep the configs the same. They checked the php.ini and the user.ini and apparently everything as it should be. There was not Max data being sent, or at least there was but loads and loads. More than you would ever require. Time outs were set for 30 mins. (Sorry I don’t know the tech terms but all the stuff in the php file that set the times and amount of data and stuff.)
If anyone ever finds out what the reason is it would be great for other people that are experiencing the same issue. I have searched high and low and there are quite a few that have experienced this exact problem but no real solutions are out there apart from the switching of servers. If we knew the reason on server front, the host company would be able to fix. Maybe wordpress will know?
Anyway, for now it is fixed here and I’m so happy! Lol!

In reply to: Can’t save pages with lots of contentHi @t-p unfortunately I have tried all of this and no luck. I even stripped the server back to nothing. Nothing in public html folder. ie wiped my site (after backing it up) reinstalled clean version of WordPress. Most basic install with no plugins except the most basic askimet etc. Had 2021 theme. New clean database but still when I went to try and add a page, I could add short content but as soon as I tried add any lengthy content I got the same error. I also couldn’t upload plugins. This is all on a fresh install.

Thanks for this. I have checked and the REST API is enabled. I checked with Health Check plugin. I have also checked the debugging, it picked up a couple of issues with plugins and I deactivated but still no luck and nothing now being written to the debug file after deactivation of said plugins. Still can’t update.
I have also got classic editor installed and this still doesn’t work. It takes me to ERR EMPTY RESPONSE. I have carried out all the fixes I could find on the internet about this particular error but it hasn’t worked. I think essentially it means it lost connection with the server.

I had a look at the link that you sent me which was great. I made a few changes but non of the errors seem to be on the post type, posts. They are all on the post type, pages, which the plugin doesn’t support. I have disabled the post types for pages in the plugin, which this help solve the issue?
Any advice would be great.

Thank you! This is great. I will have a look. I have managed to speed the site up with some plugins which is great. I think I will just not have to worry too much about the render blocking. GTMetrix is saying site is really fast so that is great.
I will look at the link you sent about AMP pages and I’ll also keep an eye for the update on your plugin. Hope it comes soon! 🙂

In reply to: [Writr] PageSpeed issue on MobileI have installed AMP on the site already, however it does not seem to work for pages on the site, only posts? Is this the case? I has caused several errors in my search console which I am not sure how to fix.
Also with regard to the .css load, I have a feeling it might be because of custom fonts, although as far as I am aware the whole site seems to be using standard fonts. It appears to be trying to load http://netdna.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/4.5.0/css/font-awesome.css, which may be having and effect. How can I stop this happening on the Writr theme specifically?
Any more advice would be great!

I know. It is driving me mad. I have been trying to fix it all day. Are you the main admin on yours? ie is the page linked to your profile page directly? I was invited by the person who set the page up to be an administrator on the page, so thought that might be the problem. But that doesn’t make sense cause I have full access to the page.

Hi thanks for this. But I have now gone in and changed the settings on Facebook to Public under App settings (it was originally set to Friends) but it is still not working and only shows if I am logged in. I have even created a new App and on the initial connect I changed it to post to Public, but it still doesn’t work. Are there any other settings that I am missing. I have looked at Privacy settings and nothing in here seems relevant.
Any advice you can give would be great.

I have now solved this! Yeay!
I am working on a mac and in order for the csv to be recognised I had to save the csv from Excel as Windows Comma Separated (.csv) it is about 3/4 of the way down the save options.
There is a still a small problem in that during import it throws a 500: Internal Server Error and I have to start import again to get the rest of the users in. Why would this be happening?
Sorry, just a bit more info I forgot to add to the original post.
The error message I get is “No user was successfully imported, please check the error log.” I then check the error log and it is blank.
