Anyone downloading plugins BLINDLY (even those from Facebook) without doing some due diligence is GOING to run into issues.. and anyone who wants this plugin is gonna have to learn how to use Github or find another option..
You say this like this is reasonable and/or acceptable. It’s not. The plugin doesn’t work? Fine. Need to download it off Github? Fine. But to leave the plugin in the WordPress plugin repository while really, the “updated” plugin is elsewhere is sloppy and deceptive. A company like Facebook should definitely do better. Just because WordPress CAN remove the plugin doesn’t mean they should be the ones who have to do it. Facebook needs to own up and clean up their mess. I’m not sure why you’re so defensive of Facebook when they’ve clearly slacked off here.

My only issue with using Multisite is that I want to have a shared calendar and post feed across the entire site — all I want to change is the accent color. I will contact the theme developer and see if he/she has any ideas.

Hey, thanks nursebob. Unfortunately, the plugin had deleted all of our admin users… at least, trying to log in with any of them came back with an “Invalid User” response. We’ve rolled back to our backup and all is well (except for the week’s worth of content lost).
I never changed the admin user… I installed the plugin and then all of a sudden nothing was working in the backend (well, the backend was still there but no changes I made would stick and I couldn’t deactivate the plugin) and the site’s pages all come up with a 404 Page Not Found error and the menu is gone. I rebooted my machine and now the admin login is an “Invalid username”. I’ve got our IT guy restoring from our latest backup which was at the beginning of the week, and we’d made quite a bit of changes since then… but oh well.
Ditto, man. How does this plugin have so many stars?! It wreaks havoc. Deleting the admin user? Really? Good job, guys!
