Thanks James… That did it… Closing this as resolved and on to my other issues moving the site has caused me…

    Thanks for everything!

Hey James, I think I’m good on the old issues… I have a new biggie… It was in settings or brute force or something that it suggested changing my login url… I did that and left wordpress open….

It times out meaning I had to login again but I hadn’t written down the location I changed the url to… Any way to figure this out? I can get into the site via ftp and phpmyadmin but as you see, have NO CLUE what I’m doing……

That is correct. It looks like I’m making progress:

willrunfor.com/blog is working and looks like I’ll be able to try fixing

willrunfor.com still sends me to shop.willrunfor.com and a 400 error which I don’t know why.

I found out that Yahoo doesn’t allow htaccess so not sure how that’s going to work.

And they force me to use the /blog directory so none of my links or images are automatically popping up…. ugh

Both are correct in the general settings. http://www.willrunfor.com sends me to shop.willrunfor.com which gives me error 400 – Bad Request…. And willrunfor.com/blog results in nothing but a white screen.

Didn’t know now that I have the export file if it’d be easiest to wipe everything, fresh install and import at this point or not?

So…. Good news and (maybe) bad news…. SOMEHOW… I must have made the correct changed to the database and or the config files as I can now click through via http://willrunfor.com/blog/wp-admin/ and get into the site.

I SEE MY PAGES AND POSTS!!!!! But only in the admin side…. When visit the site via url willrunfor.com it pushes me to a subdomain which I used for an attempt at an online store and no pages or landing page appear.

Same thing with willrunfor.com/blog/ which is where WordPress is housed. Just a white page.

I was, however, able to export everything like you mentioned. With the xml export file now in hand is it easier to attempt fixing whatever these two issues are or wiping the slate clean again, installing a fresh copy of WordPress and then importing this file?

I’m SOOOOOOOOO VERY sorry to keep bugging you, but you’re my only hope!

James, the last seems like the easiest for me at this point. The only problem I had was that, since it was hacked and the site was loaded with malware, HostGator would not reinstate my website until I paid to have it professionally cleaned, which was why I went into the malware.txt file, deleted everything and wanted to move to another server so all passwords, possible old themes and or plugins would be gone.

Even if I have it pointed back to the old name server is there a way to get into the wordpress admin section without them making my site available via the web?

I found out that my site was hacked when I visited and saw a Hostgator, contact us page…

I figured I could just get the pages and posts and images out of the old server as the hackers got the site with malware. The pages and posts and images are the only thing I cared about as I figured even if I had to recreate everything else, those were the important pieces

I downloaded the entire directory where files used to be and uploaded it to the new server. I then exported and imported the two wordpress MySQL databases as I had one main one and one on a sub directory.

Based on everything I’ve read this seems like it should take minutes, not many many hours like I’ve spent lol

Hi James, I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. I’ve sat down and started with a clean slate several times now and have been un able to get things working….

I’m either not doing something right, or simply not able to comprehend what I need to do. Was definitely proud of my little blog site and had some pages that meant a lot but it definitely doesn’t look like I’m going to be able to restore them….

Appreciate the reply. I tried adding that to the Custom CSS and didn’t work, so maybe I’m not sure where to include it…

The page with the output from the plugin is at http://willrunfor.com/blogs/

    Thanks!

    Chris
