Thanks Jim. That’s certanly a work around. Just hoped there was a css styling option. Am OK at code but definitely not a pro so had hoped someone might be able to point me in the right directon.

    Hi Jonah,

Thanks for replying. I did read the sticky but I thought other users may have some tips for me even if support were unable to help. I am sure it’s something quite simple but so far I’ve spent pretty much three days trying to figure it out. As I said, I’m not that technical.

As I mentioned, I’ve gone through your forum, the one on WordPress and the Arras theme forum. It brough some solutions but not all. Hence looking for help on here.

Unfortunately, as the site doesn’t even really break even and my day job doesn’t exactly pay well, I’m not really in a position to hire a developer or purchase a pro license.

I guess I’ll just have to keep tinkering.

    Thanks anyway.

Hi, sorry but even with all plugins completely removed the feed still does not work

Thanks Esmi. I tried changing theme but it still didn’t work. In process of removing all plugins via FTP using Cyberduck. Guess will see if that works.

I have tried deactivating all plugins but even with no plugins it still didn’t work.

If I switch theme will I lose the settings on my Arras theme?

How do I reset the plugin folder? I downloaded it (the zip as well as the proper folder) and got rid of things that I no longer used etc. Really stripped it back. And then reuploaded but that didn’t work either.

    Thanks for your help Esmi

    Hi Esmi,

Yes, I tried using that to check it and it said it was fine but I’ve come across that Russian name in Google Analytics which is apparently quite a notorious hacker so I took a look in my file manager and there is quite a lot of stuff I’m pretty sure shouldn’t be there. Tons of dodgy looking links. Have contacted Network Solutions to see what they say. I think the next step will be going through those links you’ve posted. Thanks for your help Esmi. It’s really appreciated.

    Hi again Esmi & others

I think I may have found a potential reason why the site isn’t working. I had a look through my Google Analytics and came across someone who has visited three times for several minutes

    Artem Zhirkov Alekseevich

I Googled the name and it came up saying it’s a notorious hacker. Do you think that could be why?

Should I reset file permissions and passwords?

    Any other advice?

    Thanks.

Hi Esmi, thanks for your response. I was hoping to have a bit of an idea before doing anything but perhaps that was wishful thinking.

I’m not a ftp pro and because I can’t access the CMS I’d have to remove plugins completely using my file manager instead. Unless you are/someone is able to provide any steps for resetting the plugins folder by FTP.

Same with theme although I’m not sure, if I just remove my Arras theme and upload Twenty Eleven will that work? Or would I need to activate it in CMS because as I said, I can’t get into that at the moment.

Thanks again for your help. Just a shame I can’t pinpoint what the issue is before starting the mass reupload!

Jake, not sure if you’ll read this or if it’ll be of any help but I talked to my service provider who ran a mysql query. Information is below.

Affected rows: 3040 (Query took 46.8318 sec)
    SQL query:
    UPDATE wp_posts SET post_content = replace( post_content, ‘BLOGNAME.com/blog/’, ‘BLOGNAME.com/’ ) WHERE post_content LIKE ‘%BLOGNAME.com/blog/%’

Maybe this will help shed some light on your problem.

    Hi Jake

Thanks. Yes, I think that because the path to my login changed the media screwed up. But that’s only a guess. As I said, I’m not too technical! I hope you solve your problem! If you can shed any light, that’d be fantastic. Hopefully someone else out there may have some ideas for us both.
