As far as wordpress.org, how/where to I enter my wordpress.org username and password so that my site knows to link my account with that website? Does that make sense?

Also, In my wordpress.COM account, I have my site http://www.charactersunlimitedbc.com mapped. Do I need to “un-map”?
Sorry if this is a stupid question but if there is no connection with my wp.com account by default, how would I tie my wordpress account username to that website though? Is there someplace where I need to enter my wordpress username and password so that it knows im the admin of that site?
