  • If your posterboard view is not displaying the way you’re expecting, try going to Dashboard->Events->Theme Options and hitting Save Options.

The text should show up in all pages, so its most likely a theme conflict somewhere. That said:

If you’re wanting to remove all the extra info from the hover section, you could always do the following:

    1. Create a child calendar theme. See https://time.ly/document/customize-calendar/create-new-calendar-theme/ for details.

    2. Copy …../all-in-one-event-calendar/public/themes-ai1ec/vortex/twig/event-popup.twig to the twig folder in your child calendar theme. If you don’t have a twig folder, create one.

    3. Edit the copy of event-popup.twig in your child calendar theme to remove the sections you don’t want. Twig is a template engine, and you can see documentation at http://twig.sensiolabs.org/documentation (specifically look at Twig for Template Designers).

    4. Only once you’ve edited this, change your calendar theme in Dashboard->Events->Calendar Theme to your child calendar theme. If you want to edit further, make sure to change back to another calendar theme (Vortex is the default). Only edit the theme when it’s inactive, as otherwise you might get issues with caching.

Note: If necessary, you might need to disable caching, or clear the ai1ec cache. If you disable caching the site will be slow, so remember to enable it again once it’s the way you want it.

This is definitely a theme conflict with the Helone theme on your site.

A quick test points to the contents of the CSS file http://goldwing-slo.si/wp-content/themes/helone/style.css.

Specifically the sections to do with the left nav sidebar and how it treats ul elements. The usual issue tends to be things like display: block; elements causing issues.

I narrowed it down to this section of the site CSS but haven’t the time to dig further at the moment. Hope this helps.

You’d want to look at making a child calendar theme (see https://time.ly/document/customize-calendar/create-new-calendar-theme/ for details).

You then can copy posterboard.twig from …../all-in-one-event-calendar-extended-views/public/themes-ai1ec/vortex/twig/ into the twig folder of the new calendar theme (if there isn’t a twig folder, create one).

You then want to edit posterboard.twig in your new calendar theme, as this contains all the HTML for the link.

Once you have done your edits, you should then (and only then) activate your theme. I would also recommend deactivating your theme (eg: go back to Vortex) before making any other edits. If not, you may need to clear out the ai1ec cache (remove all .php files under the …../all-in-one-event-calendar/cache/ directory) each time you make a change.

    Notes:
Twig is a templating language. You can find details at http://twig.sensiolabs.org/documentation (specifically the “Twig for template designers).
There’s a number of links inside that area, and I don’t know what the effect of wrapping links with links will do to navigating those links. This includes the “edit” button for admins, links for venue information (if you’re using the Ai1ec Venues add-on plugin), links to the event date from the date plate, etc). If this causes issues, you may need to remove them in the twig template.

The tickets button will only be valid if you’ve filled in the Tickets URL field with a valid URL.

    No problem.

Note that if you’re running a pretty standard install, you can wipe out all the setting in the DB and ai1ec “should” recreate them (with defaults). If not, you can use the “manual upgrade” procedure to reinstall, which will keep events and definitely recreate the settings. The manual upgrade procedure is at https://time.ly/document/troubleshooting/perform-manual-upgrade/

PS: If you do delete the settings, any “feed” options (ICS feeds, etc) will be lost, as will any theme option settings (eg: colour settings outside the defaults), so you’d want to make sure you had all these details recorded.

Q: How did you move the site from the old site to the new one? Did the old site have the same name?

If you changed the name, or changed any external paths, I’d suspect a database entry related to the name that hasn’t been changed. All options for Ai1ec are stored in the wp_options table, and should all have the option_name field starting with ai1ec_.

Related: It may be possible that a site path is hooked in the CSS, javascript or PHP cache. You might want to try moving the contents of …../all-in-one-event-calendar/cache/ to another folder (eg: create a folder in there called old, and move everything else in the cache dir into it).

The calendar should automatically recreate the cache files on next calendar page load.

If this doesn’t work (the files aren’t created), moving the files back will restore previous operation, and you can let us know so we can guide you through some tests (or your IT people might figure it out from the notes I’ve provided).

If it works, feel free to delete the ‘old‘ dir and all the files in it, and you should be right to go.

PS: Ai1ec uses less (for CSS templates), and twig (for PHP templates). It creates any necessary files it needs under …../all-in-one-event-calendar/cache/, so the webserver user needs to be able to write to this dir and create directories.

    Hope this helps.

Despite the changelog notes, this didn’t make it into 2.0.13.

It’ll be in 2.1, but that not due for a while. There’ll be at least 1 more release of the 2.0 series before then.

You might want to look at this section of the Time.ly forum: https://time.ly/forums/forum/developer-forum/

    Other than that:
    1. You could display this using the widget in a side bar.
    2. If you want the widget on a page, then the plugin “Widgets in pages” seems to work well with Ai1ec’s Agenda Widget.
    3. There isn’t a way to limit the number of events with shortcode yet. If you set the plugin to only show 5 events per page in agenda view, you could use one of the shortcodes to embed the standard Agenda view in your page. You would probably want to disable the navigation bar, on just that page, using CSS.

The issue now is that the javascript isn’t loading. I’m not seeing it being called from anywhere on the page. Without the Javascript, the content of the page usually won’t load.

You appear to be using a minify style tool to reduce the javascript. Can you try briefly with that turned off? If that works, you might need to exclude Ai1ec from being affected by them.

Note: Ai1ec includes it’s own minification tools, which may be causing a conflict).

You might want to look through some of the messages in this section of the Time.ly forum: https://time.ly/forums/forum/developer-forum/

As per your almost identical post on the Time.ly forum, please check robots.txt and follow the details in https://time.ly/document/troubleshooting/limiting-excessive-google-crawls/

@markmck – The only other thing I can suggest is to dig through the CSS using a Web Browser plugin like WebDeveloper (available for Firefox and Chrome).

For CSS conflicts, I try and work out which CSS file is causing the conflict (using the CSS -> Disable Styles -> Disable Individual Styles functionality), then I reload the page and use a “divide and conquer” method to selectively disable parts of offending CSS to see which parts are causing the issue (using CSS -> Edit CSS).

eg: When editing, I select ‘half’ of the CSS, and then cut it from the editor (Ctrl-X). If the issue goes away, then I know the issue is in that half. If not, I know it’s in the other half. I then undo my cut (Ctrl-Z), , highlight half of the section that is broken, and repeat. Usually you can narrow it down to 1 or 2 pieces of CSS markup, but it all depends on the theme. Note that while doing this, you’re only concentrating on the look of the calendar, as removing large sections of the themes own CSS will make it look a bit weird.

Look in the Ai1ec CSS for ai1ec-gmap. You may want to copy these entries and override them in your own CSS.

Note: I believe the default height is 200px and the width is defined as relative to the height as a percentage. You can probably define that in pixels instead of as a percentage tho.

PS: If the text interferes, you will need to look into editing the twig pages to move the position of the text/map. This will definitely require making a child calendar theme, whereas overriding the CSS shouldn’t. Changing the column positions in CSS will alter all sorts of things in the calendar, so it’s not recommended.

    This is a CSS conflict.

I remember answering a similar question on the Time.ly forum with that exact same theme: https://time.ly/forums/topic/in-month-view-numbers-of-days-are-displayed-in-the-middle-of-the-square/

Note: The user has since changed themes, so I can’t use his site as a reference. My debugging skills on CSS have improved however, so if you can post a link to your site then perhaps we can resolve it?

PS: If you want to post it in private, I think you will need to create an account at the Time.ly forum as this forum does not allow private responses or direct user-to-user communication. Post a brief description of the issue WITHOUT any links as the first post, and then post a follow-up reply with links – Make sure to tick the “Set as private reply” box before hitting submit.
