That would be great if they were able to make a patch to handle this since we try to create usernames that follow the same pattern as their email address. Thanks again!

Yes, I was using the plugin you referenced that allowed for usernames with a period. I didn’t realize I was using a plugin at first and then found It wasn’t compatible with 4.4, so I disabled and deleted it. I’ll probably try what you suggested and allow for password-protected registration.

Unfortunately, I don’t have access to the server side of our WordPress installation or I would definitely manually adjust the usernames.
