In reply to: [AdRotate Banner Manager] Not showing due to error schedule / geolocationGot it figured out. Not a plugin problem. You are right. Thanks for the help.

In reply to: [AdRotate Banner Manager] Not showing due to error schedule / geolocationWe aren’t using any caching plugin. Perhaps it’s on the server side, but it just started happening and we’ve been running ads for like years.
But I will see if I can delete cache on the server to see if that helps. Still weird that it is showing that error though.

In reply to: [AdRotate Banner Manager] Not showing due to error schedule / geolocationNo maximum in schedule. Here’s one of the ads in question.

And the other weird thing is that they appear for a brief second – like a flash – and then disappear, and Inspect shows that error.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Code Snippets] Safe Mode – no way to get to snippets settingsAs I mentioned, I used Safe Mode, following the instructions on that page. But being in safe mode didn’t allow me to get to the Code Snippet settings to deactivate the bad snippet. I’d already cleared cache, but didn’t mention it here, but just to be sure, I did that again just now, installed the plugin again, and still it crashed my site.

In reply to: My website’s position has droppedSure, it’s possible that a Yoast update is the cause, so check with their support as well. Google updates its algorithms often, and there was one in mid-May that caused a lot of rankings to drop, so that may have affected you as well. Sometimes, it’s difficult to pinpoint a problem. Sometimes, it’s not a problem on your end at all, but just an adjustment that Google has made in which your site no longer fits what Google is looking for. If you know of anything specific you might have changed around that time, that might give a clue too. Best of luck.

In reply to: My website’s position has droppedIt looks as though you contacted Google Ads, which would only be useful if you are advertising via Google Ads and are concerned that your position there has dropped. But if your organic (not ads) search results have dropped, then the Google Ads team would likely have no clue why. Then again, Google’s search team wouldn’t tell you either. There are many many reasons why a site may lose rankings, and it would be far less likely to be a WordPress problem than any of the other possibilities. You can read Google’s SEO guidelines here. But you may need to get an SEO audit from a trustworthy and reliable SEO if that isn’t helpful.

In reply to: [Share on Mastodon] Needs option to only share new postsAh, yes, on the post itself, is a checkbox. I was looking in settings. Not exactly what I meant, but now that I know how it works, I’ll just have to be careful.
I tried over and over again to replace / rename index but that never worked, so instead I just grabbed the code from the site editor’s code edit section on the blog-grid-template and pasted it into the code edit of the index page in the site editor, and achieved my goal that way.
Thanks, that’s about what I expected, except part of those instructions don’t make sense to me. You’re saying to copy the blog grid template in the templates folder into the templates folder (where it already is), and rename it to index. So, since copying didn’t need to happen, I just renamed the original index.html file to originalindex.html and the blog-grid-view.html file to index.html. But when I go to Site Editor, nothing has changed. The two files still look the same way, as does my site. I’d suspect caching for the front end, but the back end didn’t change either. What am I missing?
Hmm, one other possible idea that someone suggested to me elsewhere. Would it make sense to just rename the blog grid template I want to use to home? Would that work? Is that how it should work? Is that the actual concept or just a workaround or will it work at all?

In reply to: [Spice FSE] How to remove preloader?Thank you!
That might be the lightbox’s background color, and perhaps the images don’t fill the entire lightbox? I’m not sure but try changing the lightbox background color style to completely transparent and see if that works.
I don’t see a gray line.
