@dukessa: It is possible to load your Javascript in a way so that it will not clash with other Javascript libraries, including other versions of JQuery. See http://api.jquery.com/jQuery.noConflict/. This is causing a conflict on a WordPress site that is using the Unite theme
So you think that is the problem. I’m just trying to keep the site running until I get enough time to properly fix things up

I made the mistake of adding an extra / when I was building the website and now I have a number of URLs that would be broken if I were to remove it :-(.
