First of all, the MLA plugin is Media Library Assistant version 2.60 by David Lingren, Fair Trade Judaica. Since that’s your name, I assume it is indeed the right plugin.
When I clicked on “Edit more details” on a photo I uploaded yesterday, I see the “Last modified” date which matches the “Uploaded on” date (March 29, 2017 in this case). One other oddity that I forgot to mention last time is that the “Title” is not the name of the image I just uploaded but of a previous image that was sitting in that spot. i.e. yesterday I uploaded an image of a bird–my file was named “great_blue_heron5_July2011”, but the “Title” is “MG24_adults_kids_on_dance_floor” from the Mardi Gras party pics that I uploaded on March 29th.
However, a PDF that I created and uploaded on Wednesday shows as “Uploaded on” March 29, 2017, but “Last modified” on August 2, 2017.
Since I found that curious, I checked all the files I’ve uploaded across the last week. All of the JPGs were uploaded yesterday and all showed as “Uploaded on” and “Last modified” on March 29, 2017. All of the PDFs & one GIF showed an old upload date, but the correct modified date (actual date I uploaded). I don’t know if it matters, but the PDFs and GIFs were newly created files; the JPGs were some old personal photos, as I wanted to be sure I didn’t uploaded any of the HOA’s images that might already be in the Library.
Yes, I was having a problem with my Library before MLA was installed. I was very clear about that from the beginning. It started with not being able to upload images—-I would get an error message saying there was an error on the upload and to try again later. I tried again for several days before calling Network Solutions (who was hosting the site at the time). The tech on the phone tried several things (didn’t specifically tell me what) and then said I would have to pay for Support which I did. After several days, I got an email that my problem was fixed (yes that generic—-I had no idea what they did). The next time I went to work on the site I noticed the new MLA plugin, so I figured that was how they fixed it.
You said the problem may lie in the JavaScript or Ajax code that WordPress uses to implement grid mode. What can I do about that? (And, no I’m not a coder, I’m a designer—so I guess a better question is who do I contact to fix that?)
Yes, Photo Gallery by Supsystic is the correct plugin. Sorry for the confusion. The plugin installs a menu item on the sidebar that just says Gallery by Supsystic, and I picked that up when I mentioned it.
I had Deactivated all of the plugins before the site was migrated by GoDaddy per their instructions. So far I have only Activated those I need to have the site operate properly which are MLA, Photo Gallery and Weaver Xtreme Theme Support (support for the theme I’m using).
The other plugins I have installed but not Activated are:
Akismet Anti-Spam (don’t use, and don’t intend to Activate)
Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights (intend to Activate)
Google XML Sitemaps (don’t use, and don’t intend to Activate)
Jetpack by WordPress.com (don’t use, and don’t intend to Activate)
Virtual Robots.txt (don’t use, and don’t intend to Activate)
Wordfence Security (paid for premium, intend to Activate as soon as this is resolved)
Yoast SEO (intend to Activate)Note that some of these are now not the latest version, but those I Activate will be updated. I can delete the ones I am not using if necessary. I had been holding off on any changes until all of these issues are resolved.
I’m not sure what you mean by multi-site configuration. The hosting I bought from GoDaddy (Ultimate Managed WordPress Websites) does allow for hosting 2 sites, but I am only using the one. I also own both CantamarHOA.org and CantamarHOA.com (domains still registered with Network Solutions) with a redirect from the .com to the .org. I’m not sure if your question refers to either of these instances.
I hope this clarifies things, and can lead to a solution.
Thanks!
There is only an “Uploaded on” date in the upper right (no “Last modified”). That is the date that is incorrect. And the image appears in the middle of the grid next to other images from that date (not in the upper left where I would expect a new image to appear). The File URL does contain the correct month, and thus does not agree with the “Uploaded on” date.
Because I was having trouble uploading images at all, some of these images were uploaded more than once, but only appear in the Library once. However, several do have a number after the file name indicating it was not the first instance of that image, but I do not see the previous uploads. I had tried these previous uploads before I called GoDaddy. They got it working, but could not explain the date discrepancy and said they don’t support specific plug-ins and suggested contacting Support for the plug-in…
I have tried uploading through Media/Add New and the Upload Files tab. Same result. I generally don’t use the drag and drop, but did just now to try it. The image uploaded and was in the upper left corner, but when I clicked on it, it showed the wrong date (March 29, 2017). I uploaded several images just now through the various methods and they are all showing March 29, 2017 and are appearing in the middle of some photos from an event that were uploaded originally on March 29th. The other odd thing is the new images I have uploaded this week (including those just now) are picking up a title from another image on the same date.
If I disable MLA, my Library disappears. I just get a single grey box (previously) or a message “No media files found” (today). This was the original problem and installing the MLA plug-in appears to be the solution that Network Solutions used to fix it. If I try to upload images, they do appear to upload but still with the wrong date. I can see them if I change to list view, but not in grid view (that’s when I get the “No media files found” message). If I try to add an image to a page, I get the no files message.
If it matters, I also have the Gallery by Supsystic plug-in activated which I use to create photo galleries of our events. I have been using it for a quite a while (well over a year) without any problems until June when I first started having trouble with the Library.
I hope this information is helpful.
