My host has fixed the problem permission level. They are now encouraging me to subscribe to a paid security add-on. They said a hacker/bot could have gone into my files and made changes. Do you have any recommendations? Do I need to subscribe to a paid add-on or is one of the WP security plugins good enough? I have installed a plugin called “WP Security” which seems quite thorough.

I’m trying to get help from host. They are very busy, as usual. The problem is definitely on their end. Something to do with file permissions.
