Ok. So the steps did work. When I went to the company’s website all tabs have the url as CompanyName.com/Services, CompanyName.com/About, etc.
Except for the Home tab. the url for this tab still have CompanyName.com/Wordpress. Plus there is a “404 error”.
Any ideas?

In reply to: [Backup Scheduler] The host ftp… cannot be resolved!I am sorry, but I do not understand what you mean by another domain. The company doesn’t have any other website other than this.
Also sorry for the very late response. I didn’t get an email notification of your response until I checked online.

In reply to: [Backup Scheduler] The host ftp… cannot be resolved!Oops. I didn’t mean to include http://. I just put in the CompanyName.com then the ftp username and password. When I tried to login in FileZilla to make sure that the ftp login credentials work, and they do. So I do not know why backup schedular says, after testing,
The host CompanyName.com cannot be resolved!
Yep I already deleted the two lines.
I will spend some time reading and re-reading your link to make sure this won’t happen again when removing the “wordpress” from the url.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Thank you so much for being patient with me.
I truly appreciate your help in this matter.
I’m not panicking anymore
WAIT!!!
after awhile it started to work! Site is up and running as normal and the login page is back.
ok. so the option of editing the functions.php DID work. I just needed to wait like an hour and refresh frequently for the site to work again.
Ok. from the FileManager:
Directory:root
Folder: htdocsDirectory:root: /htdocs
Folder: wordpress
PHP file: index.php
PHP file: index.php4
PHP file: reseturl.phpDirectory:root: /htdocs/wordress
Folders: wp-admin, wp-content, wp-includes
PHP files: wp-config.php, wp-login.phphope this helps?
Ok. So I opted to use the Relocate method. But I cannot get passed step 4, because step 5 states to login as per normal when the screen only loads to a page with the Home, About, Services, etc. I have also refreshed the website, but nothing happens.
Also, in the “Moving WordPress” under “If you have accidentally changed your WordPress site URL” in bold it states that “…(but still can access the login page, through a redirection or something)”, this doesn’t apply because I cannot login to the page. I did the step anway, but the webpage loaded to a page with the Home, About, etc. (same as above).
I do not understand where I am making the error
I figured that if I can get into the dashboard then I can fix this mess I’ve created. I should have read the “Changing The Site URL” (http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL) before actually making the change in the General Settings of the dashboard.
oh..i did include an apostrophe in the above updated_option..just so you know.
