When I re-created the .htaccess file, all I did was delete it from the server, and then select the desired permalinks structure. WordPress automatically created an .htaccess file. Are there other instructions I should be following?

I’ve got the same error happening. I just switched to 2.5 a few days ago.
I think I may be experiencing the same problem. Every internal blog link – individual posts, categories – returns the home page for me. You can see what I mean at http://thelamppost.ca/Blog.
Any ideas?
