OK so I figured it out: I created a custom header template (header-custom.php) following the instructions I found here, then modified a copy of the showcase.php template – following instructions from Alchymyth that I found here – that I then copied into my child theme folder.
I now have header images on normal pages and no header images on pages using the showcase template.
Yeah I’m in the same boat. Would really appreciate help with this and removing featured/recent posts from showcase as well. I just want to have the site title, menu and a slider for the front page. Thanks.
