    Howdy Guys,

Thank you all for reporting this bug. We did find a bug in the end and are working to patch it in the upcoming version 4.1.1. This release is due within 2 weeks.

In the mean time you can downgrade to 4.0.7 as dvdstrk did, or just disable Month view for now. I am very sorry for the pain of all this. We’re fixing it as fast as we can.

    Cheers!

    Howdy Stywax!

If I am understanding you correct then those two pages were showing different events in the widget sidebar. The home page did not show all of the events that the other page did.

Near as I can see these two widgets feature the same events now:
    http://parsival.be/
    http://parsival.be/info/parsival/structuur/

Are you seeing that as well? Were you able to find a solution to this problem? Typically that sort of issue would stem from one page still being cached and not showing everything yet, but that problem will usually fix itself after a little while.

Does that all make sense? Cheers!

    Howdy Loret,

We would love to help as best we can. But that is not a common problem so it does not really have a generic solution. Could you share a link to your website so that the community here could actually see the site in question, and then maybe see if we can find a fix?

    Cheers!

    Great questions Stephane,

If I were you I would use a plugin like this to alter that string: https://wordpress.org/plugins/say-what/ That allows you to change most any string in a WordPress plugin, including that one. And it will keep your changes when you update the plugins. Would that work?

    Cheers!

    Howdy ashes,

I am sorry about that error. We are working on a bugfix for that error to make it dismissable in 4.1.1. In the mean time you can safely ignore it, it shouldn’t harm anything.

You can definitely customize the text size no problem! You will need to write some CSS, and exactly what CSS will depend on your theme. If you ask the theme author they are probably accustomed to assisting you there. You could also share a link in the forums here and see if one of the volunteers is willing to write it for you.

    Cheers!

    Howdy OUterrim,

That’s definitely odd! Usually with intermittent issues like that it involves serverside caching. It could be a plugin, a CDN, or any other form of caching. They are difficult issues to troubleshoot, but if it happens again intermittently I’d try generic caching troubleshooting steps. This will vary depending on your server and config, but whatever your system administrator recommends would be a good place to start.

Let us know if we can be of help in narrowing it donw if it rears its head again.

    Cheers!

    Howdy perfimage,

There are three dateformat settings boxes in the admin (WP-Admin > Events > Settings > Display ). Did you adjust all of them? It is likely that the one you want to adjust is Day of month without year, but you might try inserting the day of the week into all of them just to test all at once, then you can remove it from the ones you don’t want it in.

Does that all make sense? Did that work for you? Please let me know.

    Cheers!

    Howdy Kostas!

I’d recommend using a plugin like Say what? for that. It will probably read as “Calendar of %s” in the string you want to change. If you want to change the word Events then just swap the %s out for whatever you need.

    Cheers!

    Howdy Jom,

That’s no good! What happens when you try to view the calendar without being logged in? Do you see the calendar itself but no events, or is the page blank? Do you have any events set to private visibility?

You might also try a conflict test. This guide walks you through how to test for a conflict, and then identify what is conflicting.

Phils that doesn’t sound like expected behavior. I just retested private events myself and I am able to see them while logged in. I ‘d agree, it’s probably related to that plugin. I’m not familiar with how it works, but it would almost definitely have to alter WP Queries if its goal is to hide events in certain cases. Unfortunately altering queries can be a bit risky and prone to conflict.

    Does that all make sense?

    Cheers!

    Howdy vkprog,

The search function is basically WordPress’ builtin function, and it does not search through the meta data (like venue city) when it runs. If you have a very advanced knowledge of WP queries then you could modify it to index more fields, at the cost of slowing down searches.

If that’s not an option then you might suggest this as an official feature request. The Events Calendar: Suggest a feature

    Howdy arnaud.stopa,

I don’t think this will be very easy to do. WP Taxonomies are intended to be silos. Merging the tribe_events_cat tax with the categories one would be pretty difficult to my mind.

However, listing posts from two different taxonomies is easy. If you modify whatever it is you are using to list these, perhaps the page builder from the sound of it, just add the second taxonomy “tribe_events_cat” to it. This will certainly require a pretty good knowledge of WP queries and taxonomies though.

I hope that info helps. Cheers!

    Howdy CTE,

I am sorry that gave you so much trouble. Hopefully your downgrade was successful. Just in case you’re interested here’s a tutorial on that process: Downgrading a plugin

The issue 4.1.0.1 fixed is quite probably related to your white screen. It is hard to say without seeing your error logs, which the white screen indicates you should have some. But 4.1.0.1 was a “hotfix” style release to fix intended to fix a few white screens people were seeing.

If you you want to wait until 4.1.1 to update i can understand that. If for some reason you do continue seeing the white screen after updating please check your logs, or better you download and enable the WP Debug Bar which will prevent the white screen from happening and show you the errors. If you can let us know what the specific error is we can definitely assist further.

    Cheers!

    Howdy caffryfrankel,

I am truly sorry this has been such a pain. We are aware of that bug and are trying to patch it in v4.1.1. Until then though downgrading is a great idea. Here is a tutorial on that process: Downgrading a plugin

    Howdy SDR,

The template can be changed by visiting WP-Admin > Events > Settings > Display and selecting a different template.

    Howdy Markduffie,

That is cetainly no good. It’s probably a conflict between your theme’s CSS, or maybe the JavaScript, and The Events Calendar. This will require a theme dev to fix and make the two compatible. Or perhaps switching themes is an option for you if the above is not.

Does that help get you pointed in the right direction?

    Cheers!
