Thank you Nobita! Good catch. I just patched that. It should be ready for our next 3.12 release: https://github.com/moderntribe/the-events-calendar/pull/254

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Widget – borders/paddingHowdy Kerry,
Modern Tribe reps can’t help with non-bugs in the volunteer forums here. However, we’ll definitely leave this open in case one of the awesome community volunteers has time to help. 🙂

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Event Dates IncorrectThat is strange Michael. Have your tried doing a conflict test? This guide walks you through how to test for a conflict, and then identify what is conflicting. If so, please let us know what plugin or theme is conflicting. We might be able to reach out to the author of it.
What Timezone settings are you using in WP-Admin > Settings > General?
Cheers!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Unable to edit profilesHowdy Erik,
Are you using the free version of their plugin? If so, we could definitely investigate this a bit more and see if it is possible to make the two compatible. If you are using any paid extensions, could you try disabling those and retesting? We need to be able to reproduce the problem. So if it requires a paid extension to reproduce, we need to know which ones so we can reach out to the author about this and obtain copies.
Cheers!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Calendar view is working fine, full event is notHowdy DinaAP,
I am happy you found a theme that works well for you! It seems like that theme might need a few updates to be compatible with the latest The Events Calendar.
We will happily work direct with any theme author to assist them in making things compatible. If I were you I would notify the theme author there is an issue. If they need help fixing it they can reach out to us.
The author says they tested with version 3.6 of the plugin. I would not be surprised if their theme works well enough until version 3.9 of our plugin, but it probably has needed some compatibility patches since version 3.10. You might try downgrading to version 3.9 or 3.6 while you wait on the author to patch things.
I hope that helps. Cheers!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Redirection Issue for Individual EventHowdy Avigma,
It seems probable that your WP Rewrites are not behaving properly. Could you try following the steps in this tutorial: Troubleshooting 404 Page Not Found errors. I realize you are not seeing a 404 error, but if you replace every mention of “404 page” with “redirected page” in that tutorial, then it would be word for word the instructions I would give to you for debugging this.
How did that tutorial’s troubleshooting steps go?
Cheers!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Fake event, Blog and moreHowdy Beligan Foodie,
I would love to help you with that.
1. It sounds like your theme will require some customization. Having events show up as a regular post (without info) is all that can be done on our end. If you would like additional information to show in the main blog loop, you must customize your theme’s main blog loop to include that extra information such as event dates and so forth. I wish this was easier, but there is no real way to make it easier. 🙁
2. That is very strange. Not an issue I have ever seen before. Like the result of a “conflict”. In order to proceed you will need to test if a “conflict” is happening, and if so narrow it down so a fix can be found for it. This guide walks you through how to test for a conflict, and then identify what is conflicting.
3. Like that above that is weird. That link definitely does not show by default, and I have never seen it persistently show up before without you selecting the option to make it show up (which you have disabled). Once again this sounds like a conflict. Would you mind testing for those?
Cheers!

Good question. It is still included. It sounds like you are experiencing a conflict. In reply to: [The Events Calendar] 3.11 broken – why update?Personally I agree. I turn auto-updates off, and have been known to block update rights to my client’s admin accounts if there is a risk of them updating without consulting me. If there are no new features they need, I don’t update their site.
But, this strategy does require that you monitor the changelogs even if you’re not interested in new features. There are of course the ever present security concerns. In our plugin we release a security patch once in a blue moon. Most of our input/output stuff is run through WordPress’ API and thus so long as that’s secure, our plugin tends to be as well. But, every few months it seems like WordPress releases a decent set of security patches, and those are worth updating for. And on occasion when WordPress releases an update it breaks compatibility with an older version of a plugin, and you must update the plugin as well to be compatible.
I am glad you found a strategy that works for you. And I am really happy that our current plugin does everything you need. We are making a heavy push right now to build new features as many folks are asking for some additions.
Thanks for the feedback ba95472. It’s always been valuable. Just for the record I want to mention that we do extensive testing. I don’t have the numbers in front of me but I believe it is about 100 man hours of testing every release, in addition to automated tests. We have ~10 people who help, and usually strive to test everything twice before release. I am sure many other large WP plugins do the same. But, even with all that testing at times conflicts and bugs can still happen. It’s an unfortunate but persistent issue with software.
Happy calendaring!

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Excerpt ellipses not displaying properlyHowdy FryVisuals,
That sounds like a possible conflict with your theme. Whether the ellipsis is getting generated automatically, or you are manually inserting on in “The Excerpt” box on the event edit screen, it should and does show up properly for me. However if a theme or plugin were excaping the content before it gets loaded by The Events Calendar, then it would show up as …

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Need the meta for event category listI understand. Our plugin is just a run of the mill Custom Post Type, and uses the standard builtin WordPress taxonomies. The taxonomy label is ‘tribe_events_cat’. If you can find what syntax your slider uses for accessing CPTs, then you should be all set. You probably won’t even need the label, but it all depends on how the slider is designed. If you need further assistance, I would ask in the Revo Slider support area “How do I pull in the tax list for a Custom Post Type?”
Cheers!
