Single Events
I tested our existing snippet to change the layout for the single events and it worked for me using the latest version of theme and plugins. So not sure why it did not work for you. I added your snippet to the guide as well, so there is another way to do it.As for why layouts do not show I think you have to add support for it. I found this article about it:

However, the layout option does not overwrite the default so it will need more coding to work with events beyond that snippet to just show the options.
Simple Share
Finally, I tested the simple share plugin and it worked with that new snippet above so I am not sure what the issue is and not able to providing troubleshooting on 3rd party coding beyond this.Thanks

Can you please follow our testing for conflicts guide:

And see if that can narrow down the cause of this.

Having said that, does the theme have any coding to modify the output of the archives?
Our plugin creates the views in the archives and that could be the source of this conflict.

Unfortunately, we do not have any features to integrate with Post Grid.
Our Events are a custom post type (tribe-evnets) in WordPress and not posts.
If they have a way to include a custom post type it might work there.

I think those month names are generated by php and that could be causing the problem.
Not sure how WPML is suppose to handle that.
Are all Month or any other time related words always in english?

It appears your theme uses javascript to load the content and that could be the issue.
