I agree, it seems like my theme is interfering.
I tried making that change, but the problem continues.
I “zoomed” in on the screen, and it appears that the padding on the form box is causing the top and bottom of the characters to be cut off.
At any rate, I set the plugin aside and generated an embedded form straight from MailChimp and transferred the HTML.
This provided a functional form. So I am good to go.

Thank you for the response.
The WordPress database is 27.32MB.
We have 233 posts in this database.
Also, here is the state of the index in Relevanssi:
Documents in the index: 287
Terms in the index: 74202
Highest post ID indexed: 1643“Limit searches” is enabled and set at the default of 500. I tried lowering the limit all the way down to 20 but the problem persists.
“the” is already in the list of stopwords.
Please let me know if you need any other information.
