Hi,
I have put slideshow shortcode of nextgen gallery plugin in my theme’s function.php file.
If the shortcode is added to the desktop theme using a function in the desktop theme’s functions.php file, then you’ll need to implement it in WPtouch as well.
However, only WPtouch Pro supports child themes at this time. Otherwise, making changes to the Bauhaus theme’s functions.php file in WPtouch (free), will cause your customizations to be overwritten in an event of an update.
Hi,
(but if I just did the “Browser Cache” to prevent switching will I be ok?)
Yes, that should be fine, just make sure ‘Set expires header’ is disabled in the Browser Cache settings.
For future reference, a list of past releases can be found here – https://wordpress.org/plugins/wptouch/developers/
Though, please make sure you are using 3.4.3 or above, due to a security fix that was included in that version.
Hi,
It looks like you are running W3 Total Cache. So please make sure it is configured per the instructions in the article below and see if that helps resolve the issue(s) you are seeing.

In reply to: [WPtouch - Make your WordPress Website Mobile-Friendly] LicenseHi,
For WPtouch Pro support, please login at http://www.wptouch.com/support.
When purchasing WPtouch Pro, you will need to deactivate the free version of WPtouch. Then, upload the WPtouch Pro .zip file via Plugins > Add New > Upload and activate it. You should then see a notice to activate your WPtouch Pro license.
Great. You’re welcome.

In reply to: [WPtouch - Make your WordPress Website Mobile-Friendly] Use only on Homepage?Hi,
Is it possible to use WPTouch to serve a mobile homespage automatically to phones, but the regular site to tablets or desktop.
Yes, this should happen automatically. You can also select a custom landing page in WPtouch in Core Settings > General > Landing Page.
However when a link on the mobile homepage is tapped, it will serve the regular linked page (not a mobile version)?
That’s not really supported, unless the desktop theme’s homepage is something like yourdomain.com/homepage.
You cant then add /homepage in Core Settings > Compatibility > Ignored URLs.

In reply to: [WPtouch - Make your WordPress Website Mobile-Friendly] Dropdown menus issueThank you Oak Web.
Sachin, it doesn’t look like WPtouch is currently installed on the website at this time, but please make sure the latest version of WordPress and WPtouch are used and see if that helps resolve the issue.
Hi,
You may want to check if one of the active plugins in WordPress is conflicting by deactivating them one at a time in the Plugins page in WordPress and see if you find a culprit. You can start with the plugins you suspect may be causing the issue, if you have a large number of active plugins. If that fails to work, please briefly activate a default theme like the 2013 or 2014 to check if the desktop theme is causing the issue/conflict.
If you do not find a conflict, please share the URL of the website in question and we’ll be happy to take a look at it and see what may be happening there.
You’re welcome.
Hi,
When running any cache plugin/service, it should be configured per the instructions in the article below to avoid any cache issues like the ones you describe.

In reply to: [WPtouch - Make your WordPress Website Mobile-Friendly] testing mobile siteHi,
Why is there a discrepancy? Should I just ignore what those online test sites say about how my site looks?
The best way to test WPtouch would be on an actual mobile device. When that is not possible, the next best way would be via the Preview Theme feature in WPtouch Pro.
If you see discrepancies when using online simulators, it’s because they’re exactly that – simulators. Those differences can be ignored. Though, if you notice any issues in an actual mobile device, let us know and we’ll be happy to investigate.
You’re welcome.
