Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Help! Blog Posts Not Visible, But They are In DatabaseI’ve been having the same problem recently – My posts are in the database (verified this with phpMyAdmin), as well as on the dashboard, but do not appear either on the blog’s front page, on the archive pages, or even in the “Manage” section of the admin panel. The blog’s front page simply reads “Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.” This happened in Firefox 1.06 with WordPress 1.5.1.3. Now for the freaky part: I fire up MSIE6 and everything works perfectly. Logged in, viewed the admin panel, everything is there just like you’d expect.
Some things I tried doing to fix the problem:
- Upgraded from WordPress 1.5 to 1.5.1.3. Nothing.
- Cleared FF cookies and did a force-refresh (of course).
- Logged in and out manually.
- Disabled all plugins.
- Switched to a different theme (WordPress Classic, unmodified from the stock version).
- Deleted .htaccess and let WordPress generate a new one.
- Checked my server’s current time: It’s accurate.
- Tried browsing from /wp/ instead of / – no change.
Anything else I might have missed? I’m totally stumped at what could be happening to cause WordPress to not display any posts for me from one browser, but work fine in another.
(Edited to add: When I changed the theme, Firefox still told me “Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.”, but it showed it using the WordPress Classic theme instead of the one I was previously using. So, I don’t believe this to be a simple “Clear your browser cache and try again” problem…)
