We had been hiding the Admin Bar from our client. Upon updating a site to 3.8 and updating all plugins, we didn’t see any issues. However, our client logged in and saw the admin bar, but with style problems. See screen grab here. The client’s group was set to hide the Admin Bar, but this setting was no longer behaving as before. The temporary solution was to show the Admin Bar, but we would like to get back to a situation where the hiding works. See screen grab here for option in question. Any idea what is going on?
How embarrassing. The message is referring to the target site, not the site whose admin is being used at the time. Heh.
Turning XML-RPC on at the target site solved this.
