Hi David,
I appreciate the reply. I find those instructions really hard to follow. I don’t know what you mean by a “bulk edit” area. No tab seems to have that name? I see tabs for General, Views, Uploads, Shortcodes, Custom Fields, IPTC/EXI, Documentation.
Nothing about “bulk edit”.
Could you be more specific about which tab I should be working on?
You mention “templates” and “data sources”. I don’t see fields with these names either…..
Again – could you be more specific about what tabs and what options I need to tick?

I need to add the code to my child theme, otherwise the problem will come back every time I update the theme.
I would really appreciate if you can let me know what code to add to my child theme’s style.css file!

I really do not understand what you mean.
I have tried adding the above code to my theme’s custom css file, and it does not help.
Please let me know the exact code and the exact name of the file that I need to add this code to.

I hadn’t restored database. Only site. When I restored database to a week prior’s version, the issue went away. So I’ve recovered. Thanks again for all the help and advice.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Product catagories disappearedActually – I can update something. I have just checked and on my blog page, I have an “archive” listing August 2016, July 2016 etc. I’m not sure if I ever had an archive like that before. I don’t think so.
However I can see that on August 10, 11 and 12, there is a whole raft of spammy torrent posts appearing, posted by “Admin”.
So I assume this means I have been hacked in some way?
Any idea what I should do?

Thanks for your suggestion, mate. I agree with your logic. However I’ve just done what you said and no dice. I deactivated every plugin and reverted to Twentyten. I then activated only woocommerce and tried to add categories and they disappear as soon as I refresh the category page.
Very perplexing.
Some other information I should add.
– Our blog page categories have also disappeared
– I noticed yesterday that our Akismet plugin had been deactivated
– Last night while looking at the blog page on my iPhone it was flooded with a whole barrage of spammy stuff -torrent site links and other assorted stuff and there were a whole lot of blog categories that I had never heard of. I reverted the site to a back-up and those have now gone, but I’m wondering whether somehow we have been hacked and our database flooded with a whole lot of categories that have confused the whole category system?! Does this make any sense? How would I check?Thanks,

Yes – the site was fine a few days ago and it was most definitely fine a few weeks ago.
I have about 70ish products.
There were 4 catagories.It would be easiy enough just to create the 4 catagories again, but as I said in my original post it won’t let me create catagories. They just disappear as soon as I create them! 🙁
