    ok, I substituted the html elements & l t ; and & g t ; for < and >, and now I can get the home page and backend again. But still no other pages.

    oops, now I get internal server error, no longer able to display anything.

    P.S. I see a lot of this was put in there by SuperCache. Although that is still installed, it is presently turned off because it was interfering with a participants database I use.

    Month and name http://localhost/wordpress/2015/07/sample-post/

    Also, forgot to mention I am running WP 4.2.2.
