Thanks a lot, Rocio, the trick you mentioned (ctrl+v) worked out fine. However, the other way of creating a link is still not working for me.
Even after ctrl+v, a small bar appears. I clicked on the edit button because I wanted my link to open up in a different window. After editing, clicking on the save button reproduced the same behavior for me.
I also noticed that the new editor takes me to the top of the page and the link-edit bar also doesn’t go away until I save the page.
But nevermind. You can ignore it for now. I have disabled the new editor for my live site. I will play around with this in my local environment. Not sure, if this is because of any plugin conflict. I will do some trial and error at my end and will let you know if find any useful information to share, which can help you reproduce this at your end.
