In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] 13.0 and backups? If that’s a priority, I guess it can be, but it is strange to me how an issue of this level has gone completely unmentioned anywhere that I’ve looked. The release notes for the backup plugin I mentioned above which supposedly has the fix already doesn’t even mention it. So I imagine that the release notes for the Jetpack plugin itself next month won’t either. This doesn’t seem right or plausible.
Still waiting. Can’t be that difficult.

In reply to: [Astra] Where is the current location to disable the header?@bsfherman for the purposes of the question, assume someone already has built the header/footer with Astra. At that point if they no longer want them, they either have to undo that work or do what the article mentions? I was just thinking that there would be a toggle in the UI for such a thing.

In reply to: [Astra] Where is the current location to disable the header? That article is titled “How To Remove the Astra Header From Entire Site?” pretty well sums it up.
So, someone is using Astra now for the header and/or footer.
They want to still be using Astra in general, but just not for the header and/or footer anymore.
They’ve secured something else to handle the header/footer, but Astra’s handling of it still needs to be turned off. It’s very hard to believe that the only way to do that is via an obscure child theme patch (what the above article describes). Surely there’s a master switch in Astra’s settings.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] 13.0 and backups?According to support, this is indeed due to recent changes on their end. They suggest multiple ways to fix it.
- Install this, which was just updated with the fix: https://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack-backup
- Wait for the next version of Jetpack, due in early March
- Add your FTP, SFTP or SSH server credentials in Jetpack Cloud

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] 13.0 and backups?Nope, 13.1.1 has the same problem. Someone at Jetpack ,must know what changed and why, since this is pretty binary.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] 13.0 and backups?Incidentally, I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else as a result of subscribing to notifications for this thread only, but I’ve been receiving notifications somehow for other things related to Jetpack, and the emails offer no hint about how to stop them. They look like this and are from jetpack/tags and jetpack/trunk.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] 13.0 and backups?Yes, with this:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-rollback
Then on your plugins page just ensure that auto-updates is disabled for Jetpack.

Another point for @a11n aside from what I just mentioned: with 13.0 in effect, how is it that Jetpack Debug Tool passes?
Are you suggesting that 13.0 and above requires different whitelisting than earlier versions?! If so, that would have been something that was announced.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] 13.0 and backups? It’s working with 12.9.3. Given the other reports of other connectivity problems with 13.0, I think we know what the problem is.
Did the problem happen to coincide with 13.0? If so:

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] 13.0 and backups? So, after a 4th consecutive failure, I reverted to 12.9.3 and then waited for the next scheduled backup that night.
It worked. No way that’s a coincidence too.
So I’ll just stay on 12.9.3, and when 13.1 comes out look at the release notes for it to see if there’s a hint of the problem.
@bsfherman Depending what is meant by current design, I was surprised to find that it kind of is migrated. The menu is still there (text is a different color). A button is still there (a little larger). And the topic of this thread, the search button, is also still there (and works)–I was somehow under the impression that new header and footer builder didn’t have the search feature at all.
@fernandolrc How did it turn out for you?
