In reply to: Restored and copied wp_posts but site only reads 60 of 1200 postsNo that database change isn’t because it was hacked, it is because the original wordpress site had a weird structure / setup (not my doing) where posts weren’t only treated as posts, depending on categorization – it even had two tables with _posts in them – so something was off to begin with.

In reply to: Restored and copied wp_posts but site only reads 60 of 1200 postsSOLUTION:
In Text Wrangler, I did a replace all for “?post_type=blog-grind&” to “?” and another replace all for “blog-grind” to “post” , then I re-imported the database, copied wp_posts to my new wordpress install, and that seems to have imported the 80 or so most recent posts that I most wanted to restore that were previously not showing up.
The images don’t show up (cause I’m an idiot and didn’t save that folder) but the text is there and it works.
Thank you for all your help, I would’ve been lost without you. (It didn’t help that I didn’t setup the original site, so I guess there were additional blog names or something that was causing it to not import to the right spot)

In reply to: Restored and copied wp_posts but site only reads 60 of 1200 postsLooking at the two db lines in this window, it is easier to read and compare… Is it possible ‘blog-grind’ instead of ‘post’ is the culprit?
Also it seems like ‘http://michelleslonim.net/?post_type=blog-grind&p=1998’ instead of ‘http://michelleslonim.net/?p=1994’ might be different…
Do I need to do a replace all in the text editor and reimport, or might adding the category “Blog-Grind” in wordpress do the trick?

In reply to: Restored and copied wp_posts but site only reads 60 of 1200 postsThank you David and Cukeving for the replies and suggestions. Sorry for the slow response, I was trying to follow all the suggestions. Here’s my follow ups:
Wordfence database scanner found no issues
I installed the Mac Version of Total Commander. It did not find any “base64” entries.
I then used Text Wrangler for Mac to open the sql database. It opened without being corrupt. I searched for “base64” it found one entry, which doesn’t seem like it applies:

Disabling all plugins and going to standard theme didn’t make a difference.
And I didn’t download the uploads and images folder. Basically the site was slow and hacked files and BlueHost was not at all helpful, so I just got the db exported and had them delete all public_html files and subfolders.
I don’t care about getting the images back, I just want to be able to import the blog text from old blog posts into my new site. I only imported wp_posts into my new db cause I don’t care about the rest.
I did basic phpMyAdmin of analyze and fix tables. It seemed fine.

In reply to: Restored and copied wp_posts but site only reads 60 of 1200 postsIt imported all the records, as I see the database with 1200 rows aka entries in phpmyadmin – but in wordpress admin -> all posts, it doesn’t display all the posts that are in the database
It gave me no errors.
Again from above:
Here is the PhPmyAdmin screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/Sh7I4Vi.pngAnd the wordpress posts listing: http://i.imgur.com/QXrjDBW.png
Both are sorted by date (most recent first).
Post_title slump and blinders are examples of posts that don’t show up in wordpress but are in the database

In reply to: Restored and copied wp_posts but site only reads 60 of 1200 postsOk I understand about the not 1200 actual posts. My guess is the real number of unique posts is closer to 200-400.
Either way, I’m positive that not all entries have been restored (see the two screen shots in my previous post).
Is there a database error that I could fix to get it to re-read the posts that are in there but not showing up? Any other ideas? I’ve managed to export the sql file as an html file, so I can see all the text on all the blog posts… Not sure if that helps at all?
Thank you

In reply to: Restored and copied wp_posts but site only reads 60 of 1200 postsI’m not sure what “confirming by other means” would entail?
When I click onto “edit” in phpmyadmin it seems to display text consistent with the post.

In reply to: Strong and Embed html tag issuesI did a quick search and it seems like that Viper plug in you recommended is the best option. I’ve installed it and will try it out with my next post (hopefully tonight).
Are there any settings in viper I need to change that you’re aware of, or should it work with RSS if left to defaults?
Thanks again!

In reply to: Strong and Embed html tag issuesWhere would I go to make sure I’m using full feeds? I know I use feedburner for the RSS feed…
Thanks again for all your help!

In reply to: Strong and Embed html tag issuesThanks iridiax! Removing the font-weight: inherit; line fixed that issue. You’re good (or I’m bad 😛 )
I don’t suppose you have any ideas for fixing the < embed > tag for the RSS feed?
